Happy St. Patricks! It's that time of year that I apologise to my ancestors for my dislike of potato!

I cannot underestimate how much I have loved this design and subsequently the mythology of Fionn mac Cumhaill, for many years now bc of my time with SMT V. I honestly cannot stop thinking of him every St. Patricks day specifically LMAO

The Salmon of Knowledge is a legendary fish from Irish mythology. It was said whoever caught and ate it would gain ultimate knowledge and insight. I decided to give it a more humble neighbour, the Otter of Doubt.

- Basically, a wee tale that explains why the common man, like you and I, are smarter than those high-born sons of bitches who try to rule over us.

- Because a German soldier is looking right at us.

- So, there was a salmon in the River Boyne, and it had all the knowledge of the world locked up inside its flesh and scales. And a nobleman called Fineagas spent seven years of his life trying to catch this famous salmon, with nets and hooks and the whole kit and caboodle. And eventually, he caught the salmon and gave it to his ragged-arsed little servant called Fionn Mac. And he said, "You cook this frigging fish, but you do not, you ragged-arsed little bastard, take a bite of it, or even taste the flesh, because the fish is mine and the knowledge is mine, and whoever tastes this fish first gains all the knowledge of the world." So, Fionn Mac, the servant, cooks the fish, and to check that it's cooked, he presses the flesh with his thumb. But the servant burns his thumb on the flesh of the fish, so he sucks his burnt thumb and, in doing so, he sucked the fat of the fish off it. And so, all the knowledge of the world went to the ragged-arsed servant, Fionn Mac. Which is why, to this day, babies suck their thumbs, and poor people have all the answers.

Heyyy!!! It's been a while lol and I know you were saying that you were not having the greatest time recently on your last Tumblr post so I just wanted to see how you were doing and if you were alright 👍👍👍👍

Heya! It has been a while. I apologize for not being as active as I once was. Rest assured, all is manageable, and nothing super serious has been going on, but life does have a way to keep you on your toes.

I've been recently spreading my writing out to other things outside of my Fae!AUs, which have made the updates between chapters even longer, which has led me to fall into the bad habit of rushing chapters. When I rush chapters, I hate how they turn out, so I rewrite them. If I have to rewrite a chapter, I think I'm a bad writer, which makes me panic that nothing is getting done, and the cycle continues. I've done better to get out of that funk, but sometimes old habits can creep up on me. Hopefully, I can take the new stuff in life in stride and deliver better stories in the future.

To end on a high note, my most recent project in stained glass art is a Salmon of Knowledge tribute, but with the style and colors of the Fount of Knowledge! Still a work in progress, with some slight setbacks, but it has helped me to clear my head and come up with great writing ideas. The finished version should be released after my newest chapter.
