"So, I think everyone's right to ship away if they want." — CHARLIE VICKERS agrees, ship and let ship! ⊹﹏𓊝﹏⊹ ࣪ ˖ Interview with Eva Carducci
Day one-ish in a small fandom and I already blocked the most active user for telling people they are not welcomed in the fandom if they like a noncanon incest ship.
My brother in christ I don't like it either but imagine being so self entitled to dictate who should and who should not belong in a fandom.
My only "condition" of whho shouldn't be in a fandom is when you're an asshole to other (real) people, not what you do with made up beings from a song.
You know what I did when I saw this ship fics on AO3?
I scrolled past.
Wow. Incredible.
“I believe in ship and let ship and not harassing people, except for—”
Let me stop you right there. If you have some sort of exception list for ship and let ship, then you don’t actually believe it. It literally means ship and let ship. What are you doing here saying you support it but then making a list of reasons why you’re actually against it?
Idk, fam. I’m tired. Please learn what words mean.
Here are my stances on proship discourse
People are allowed to ship what they want, as long as they aren’t hurting/harassing anyone
NSFW of real minors/their sonas/their OCs is where the line is crossed
RPF is a grey area
Harassment is never okay regardless of the situation
Research should be done on certain topics before writing fanfics
Fiction affects reality, but not 1 to 1
Forcing survivors to cope in private puts pressure on them. This should only be applied to minors
There are bad actors in the proship community, but they do not represent the whole community
The creator being a proshipper is not a valid reason for criticism
I believe in death of the author, but we shouldn’t ban their works, instead we should acknowledge the problematic content
Degenerate is a slur associated with the Nazis that should not be reclaimed
“It’s fiction” is bad only if the person is using the ficton for bad intentions
Proshitter is a slur to me
The term “proshipping” is an excuse to make proshippers look like people who ship problematic ships
People with proship dni have no place in the Homestuck fandom
DNIs are useless (block instead)
Tag your shit properly
"Is x a proship?"
Who cares. ❤ Ship what u want forever.
Remembering a comment I saw on pinterest that went something like this "And some people ship batjokes O.o" it might've had a vomit emoji but idk.
The image was of a panel from a dc alternative universe comic where Alfred was joker and was putting on the make-up(I think it's "Batman: Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?") and on pinterest there was added text over it, talking abot how the reader liked it or something.
And I just think it's a bit odd and rude to leave a comment like that, so unrelated and so hostile, intentionally or not. I get not liking a ship, but to have it on your mind so much that that is the thing you comment doesn't sound healthy mentally. If you don't like something, don't think about it, in the sense of ships and stuff that you can ignore without any repercussions. It was also completely unrelated to what OP was talking about/the image, unrelated to the subject and disrespectful to OP and batjokers. Plus, it didn't even add anything of worth, at most it made someone feel bad/disgusted/ashamed about shipping batjokes(ahem, fiction!)
Lasty, it's an AU, an alternative universe, not canon to canon dc, so I don't get the need or want(especially since the commenter obviously doesn't like the ship) to comment that.

The image was something like this with not too much, but quite a lot fo text infront.
