Salt mining
“Rock salt mine near Mt. Morris American Rock Salt Company, Llc., Hampton Corners Mine” - via Wikimedia Commons
not to out myself as a midget but it's seriously exhausting that people still consider height an acceptable thing to make fun of. and moreso that i can't have a serious discussion about the topic without someone saying something like "you're just mad because you can't reach the top shelf" and getting my #sick burn screencapped and blasted across the entire internet, but like, some of you seriously need to rethink the way you talk about other peoples' bodies
honkai community being smaller, there's a peaceful feeling... genshin community being big is just chaos in general 😲 but i've seen that post said "toxicity aimed at mihoyo", why? didn't mihoyo created honkai? is mihoyo evil or what?
Toxicity aimed at mihoyo for treating our girls so bad, let them be happy. The more genuine answer is that the game has been becoming more pay to win over time. Ever since the Herrscher of the Void was introduced and broke the meta for more than a year, all the new valkyries now NEED most of, if not all of their signature gear to be at maximum performance if you want to be competitive. And more often than not that signature gear is gacha only. Currently, the only f2p best set of anything is the Ana Schariac stigmata set. Back when I first joined, you get to the top 2% of Memorial Arena with skill and f2p gear. The last f2p stigmata set that was actually the best at anything was the Fu Hua: Musician set. So we’re a little salty about that.
I'm not sure why people are eager to defend NTT Solmare. Gacha is an inherently exploitative model and games in the genre use underhanded tactics.
The main meat and potatoes of any gacha is the gacha itself. Spend premium currency to possibly get rewards. In other words, gambling. Gacha is dolled-up gambling. That's a major issue when it's considered that gambling addiction is very real and very scary. From my personal experience, pulling on banners has given me emotional highs and lows. The rush of joy felt when pulling a rare card cannot be downplayed. On the other hand, strings of bad pulls leads to frustration and the desire to try again. It can grow into a vicious cycle of pulling over and over again trying to chase a single reward (something that has not happened to me luckily). Obey Me does have pity systems, but they also encourage pulling a lot. Ten pulls for a guaranteed SSR and one hundred for one of the two URs for event banners.
Many games, including Obey Me, also prey on the fear of missing out. Time limited banners and events pressure the player to spend or miss out on rewards. Getting event cards in Obey Me is essentially impossible without either spending much time hoarding resources or spending. If a player wants to participate well in all the events, they will have to spend. Another way that fear is exploited is through daily login bonuses and missions. I personally have slogged through missions out of the fear of not getting the completion rewards. It felt more like an obligation than a fun diversion by the end.
Finally, the amount of money needed to participate in events and banners is outrageous. It's possible to participate in one event or banner fully as a F2P, but it takes a long time saving and preparing. Using the price of the “best value” pack of the store (12,000 DP for 79.99 USD),I calculated that a single Devil Point is worth around seven cents. Which doesn’t sound too bad until its considered, for instance, than ten pulls on a banner costs 270 DP or 18.90 USD.
For my event calculation, I used the spreadsheet made by Laelelae (I’ll link it in the comments). Looking at the event, “Welcome to Hell’s Garden”, it can be seen that the UR Satan was obtained at 240000 Flowers and that getting those flowers would take around 3200 DP for AP resets. Looking back on the earlier calculations, the UR Satan card would cost around 224 USD to get. That single card costs more than my families weekly grocery bill. Some cards were only obtainable through recharge events and those explicitly cost real money to get.
I’m not saying you can’t enjoy Obey Me, but be leery of seeing the developers as friends when they employ such tactics.
According to this 0 0 6 Malthael, Brightwing is the reason we lost. Classic case of blaming others rather than improving yourself. Notice how the game was still entirely winnable at the point he decided to throw.
Stats don’t lie jackass. And you’re not fooling anyone when you say it’s your “alt account.”
Looks like someone is just salty, cuz I didn’t respond to their message fast enough. :P (p.s. i never claimed to know shit about art)
Delayed warning, large flashing light sequence when the game is opened for the first time during the event, and no general pointers for where the sequences happen.
