folks talk about "AI" like it's something beyond humanity, like people didn't make it. "we are reaching a future where you don't require skill to create anything!" no we're not, it doesn't take any skill to customize a picrew avatar but someone still had to draw all that. "AI" artists are taking part in an art piece already made for them.
there is no metaphysical conflict here, you've already played with creativity toys that offer room for personal expression but ultimately are too constrained or opaque to be considered art tools, it's art, but you're not the artist.
this is why the conversation is so annoying to me. both sides speak about "AI" like it's a magic machine that can transform ideas into artwork. "AI allows unskilled people to make art" said either optimistically or judgmentally back and forth forever, but it can't do that. Google images allows unskilled people to make art too, I guess.
It's like we all collectively forgot as a society that friendship and just connection in general takes effort. Even if you meet someone you immediately click with, it takes hanging out about 20 times (!) to become friends. And guess what, some of those 20 meetings might be awkward or unimpressive.
We all want to reap the benefits (having a friend circle, having a partner, getting married) without doing the work (going to events, interacting with people, learning to handle conflict maturely, dating). Myself included. If I could, I'd never leave the house or go on another mediocre date again... except, that's part of the process.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, the cure to the loneliness epidemic is touching some grass and building tolerance for tedious in-person interactions.
I don't trust anyone who hasn't acknowledged their capacity for evil.
"I'm just a smol bean uwu" No sir, what you are is someone who is so habituated to thinking of yourself as innocent that you will continue to do so even when you're guilty.
To quote Chris Fleming
"You know that thing where the most toxic person you've ever met over-relates to woodland creatures on social media? I call it Vibe Dysphoria. She'll put up a picture of a mouse in a jean jacket with 'It's me.' That is not you. I don't know how you got under the impression that you are a mouse in a jean jacket. You are an eel with a gun.She posts a toad with a basket of mushrooms like 'Me doing my little things.' Oh madam, there is nothing little about your things. You gave me psychosexual issues I'll carry to my watery grave. You are not a toad in the forest...You are a cruel woman who just happens to be small."--Chris Fleming
I wish shitheads didnât ruin this blog for me
Unpopular opinion: Being intelligent isnât an excuse for being unkind.
Pretentious asshole is OUT! Pretentious Sweetheart is IN! Wearing dapper clothes and holding the door open for others makes you feel COOL AS H*CK! Glance up from your hefty books to give a stranger a smile!! Quote literature to inspire others! Be presumptuous in the way that you presume that everyone needs their day to be a little brighter!!!
Administration showed us this tweet on day one of grad school and boy did it hit home
âdistinguished yourself by being kindâ is my literal life motto at work, holy shit
why is it so difficult for ppl to distinguish between "this person is a literal bigot and should not have a platform" and "this person is not actively malicious but has accidentally done a couple harmful things that should be addressed" and "this person has made a few poor taste jokes several years ago but has since grown as a person" and "this person simply just didn't know the 'proper' term for something"
fuck it adding on what i said in the tags
{ID - tags reading, âidc if you dislike someone for whatever reason but stop comparing actual bigots to someone who like. didnt know what a hyperfixation wasâ END ID}
Being nice to someone you don't like is not manipulation btw it's being civil
Mmm no, this is like seeking validation. Ofc it's best to be nice but if I don't like you or we both dislike eachother, then there's no reason for us to communicate or be around eachother. It's not about being immature, I would much rather not put myself in such a situation.
Have you ever had a job
Any interest in that shitty series and the cunt who made it is, in her words, direct support for her ideas. Read a different fucking book.
I read lots of books. I just think people should be allowed to read what they want without being called names. Itâs REALLY simple. I donât think everyone who reads Harry Potter is a bigot and transphobe by proxy
And with that, Iâm turning off anonymous asks for a while. This isnât healthy for either of us, but especially not for you. You can come address me off anon if you really want. But the fact that Iâm still getting hate mail over a simple call to be kinder to people is frankly ridiculous and kind of depressing honestly.
If you didnât want hate mail maybe you shouldâve shut the fuck up before even typing anything. Ever think of that moron.
Friendly reminder that âthe thing I typedâ was that being mean to people for reading their personal copies of a book they like does not make them transphobes. Which is a mild statement which, at its core, is just a call for people to treat each other better. Thatâs all I said. The fact that Iâm getting so much pushback on it is honestly kind of sad
Regardless, you seem like a person whoâs really hurting inside, so I apologize that what I said bothered you. I hope things start going better for you soon
Omg, youâre from Italy? I loved jojo part 5
Omg youâre from Greece? I loved Gay Porn
Thatâs what you sound like.
and greek people would be like omg really thanks
