What being a Mercy Main Is Like and How to love them
So if you never or rarely played Support, then you’re in for a treat! Especially if you never or rarely played Mercy.
Angela Zeigler is a very flexible and mobile healer. Her strengths are:
1. Ability to fly to different allies if they are split up (but only if she can SEE them)
2. Heal a tremendous amount of health (as long as her ally RETREATS to cover or isn’t taking a significant amount of damage)
3. Her small frame makes it hard for enemies to shoot at her (if she’s far range from them)
4. Helper of killing low health enemies (If her blaster is quick keyed by the player and there’s no healing needed to be done)
5. Damage Booster (as long as your kills are better than your damage intake)
6. Her resurrection (as long as her team is grouped together so that can help push through the last minute or defend)
She makes for probably the best healer in Competitive. Imo. BUT she does have downsides.
1. Heal OR Kill (She can’t attack and heal at the same time like Lucio)
2. Her health is 200 (ANY HERO can take her down FAST)
3. It takes almost a full clip to kill an enemy (depending on the enemy class)
These are just a few of her weaknesses. But YOU as a DPS or whatever CAN HELP.
Because of her 200 health, she needs protection. So whenever you see your Mercy’s health go low on YOUR SCREEN OR HEAR her voicelines, “Help me!” or “I’m under attack!”, YOU BETTER FRICKEN TURN AROUND AND PROTECT HER INSTEAD OF SAYING “WHERE’S OUR MERCY?? She’s dead??!” after she’s dead.
Also, Mercy Mains are agile. They depend on their team to kill the enemy(ies), so most of the time we’re ducking for cover. But if you’re out in the open against even 2 to 6 enemies, you bet your sorry ass that they’re after MERCY.
Where is your Mercy btw? Well, there’s 3 places she’ll always be:
1. Behind you if you’re a TANK or the first on the frontline. Why? Because a Mercy’s Ultimate CHARGES FASTER WHEN HEALING A LOT OF DAMAGE TAKEN.
2. With another Ally whose hiding. Why?? For her to live, she has to be partnered with someone who can attack.
3. DEAD. CUZ YOU DID NOT FOLLOW OR PROTECT YOUR MERCY.
THE ENEMY DOESN’T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOU IF THEY SEE YOUR MERCY FIRST. MERCY (AND ANY OTHER SUPPORT) IS THEIR NUMBER ONE TARGET.
