I’d be much happier with the anime if they went with ‘Umi doesn’t like anyone’ than this. It feels so forced, and actually, IMHO, ends up doing both Asmi and Clemi shippers a huge disservice by cutting out many of the good elements of one and not actually committing enough to the other to do them justice. Like, it’s one thing to say she’s just not feeling it for anyone at this point, it’s another to convince me that she’d really prefer Clef to Ascot.

I think either going the Umi isn’t ready for a relationship or Umi isn’t interested in romance angle would have been better because I’m not sold on either of these, least of all since in Cephiro you can look whatever age you want; we know that Clef is at least a couple of centuries old, and even though Ascot never says, he could actually still be a child in a teenager’s body or even be a couple of decades older than Umi. I kind of feel like it cheapens Umi’s character to try to force her into a romantic relationship just because Fuu and Ferio are well established and it looks like Hikaru could be going the same way with Lantis, especially as it seems to be be indicating that Umi can’t be as happy as her friends unless she has a guy, too.

@salusmuro thank you for the suggestions, I've been thinking about doing a few new things like going to this nerdy bar near me or getting into table top gaming. it's just tough with this new job I have, I'm always exhausted when I get home and I have no mental energy anymore. I need to start eating better and working out, too. Lots of changes to make, but first I think I need to rest..... been doing way too much lately. Did two cons back to back and Disney yesterday........... I'm beat
