✦ OC Winter Challenge Day 2:

  ➤ Sam Pincher x Reggie

The night had just begun, and Sam couldn’t have been more exhilarated. She had never lied to her parents (at least, not on this level), never been to a real concert, much less been invited to get hot dogs with the band.

And, from all this, Sam was shivering with excitement.

The boy beside her — Reggie, as he so charmingly introduced himself just a few minutes ago — tapped his fingers to her wrist. “You look cold. Here, take my jacket.”

“Oh.” The fabric was already placed over Sam’s shoulders before she could argue. She noticed the faint blush that spread over Reggie’s cheeks, how he held her gaze just a moment longer than necessary. And after swallowing the lump in her throat, Sam let out her infamous nervous laughter. “Um, thanks.”

His soft smile and slight nod was enough to veer Sam over the edge.

He did not just do that. He did not just do that!

But he did just do that, and she was now tugging his jacket tighter to her frame, not even bothered by the smell of sweat and cheap cologne. A cute boy had just given her his jacket. A cute boy in a band had just given her his jacket.

This night was more than she could ever imagine. It was so perfect, so strange, so intoxicating.

She hoped it would never end.

“Reggie, quit flirting and get your hot dog!” The lead singer, Luke, called, making Reggie’s cheeks blossom even more blush than before.

“Right, I should — get my…yeah. I’ll get you one too?”

Sam only nodded, almost positive that her own face was as red as his.

She watched him jog up to the other boys, who stood near the hotdog stand. Sam couldn’t care less that the ‘hotdog stand’ was merely being operated out of someone’s trunk — all she cared about was the fact that she was here at all. At a concert. With a band. Wearing a band member’s leather jacket over her shivering shoulders.

Reggie turned around, two hot dogs in hand, sending her a wide smile. Sam nearly swooned.

He was so cute, she could just die.

✦ OC Winter Challenge Day 11 + 12daysofjatp (kinda):

➤ Sam Pincher x Reggie Peters

Sam’s eyes were narrowed on the book in front of her — it had been, what? Ten minutes? And still, she couldn’t manage to turn one of the pages.

She guessed it was because it wasn’t one of her own books. She could manifest her books just like the boys could manifest their instruments, but this one was lent to her by Julie. It was quite good, too, and helped her get more accustomed to 2020 — if only she could get to the next chapter.

Frustrated by the lack of turning pages, Sam huffed and sat back in her seat. She could always do some knitting instead, but that wasn’t the point. It was days like these that made her really hate being a ghost.

But her frustration was washed away as soon as she turned her eyes up to the studio around her. Perhaps it was longer than ten minutes that she had been busy trying to read, because when she looked up, she saw mistletoe. Lots of it.

“Um, Reg?”

He was plucking at the strings of his bass, face etched in concentration. “Yeah?”

“Look.”

He did. His face was just as confused as hers. The two looked around, eyes flicking to the mistletoe that had somehow been strung up without them noticing. Strung up around and just above them.

It was then that the girls’ giggles were finally heard. Behind Reggie and Sam were Flynn and Julie, snickering into their hands.

Flynn spoke first, looking just past Sam’s head, “Huh, how strange.” She turned to Julie, who didn’t even try holding back a smile. “Where did all this mistletoe come from?”

Sam laughed nervously, as usual. “Very funny guys,” she said, her face becoming hotter than the California sun. She knew what the girls had been trying to do, but clearly, Reggie didn’t.

“What’s with all the decorations?”

Alex rolled his eyes from atop the loft. “Reggie. Dude.”

“It’s obvious Reg,” Luke said, now poofing onto the arm of Sam’s chair. He caught her wide eyes with a wink before turning to Reggie. “Julie wants you to kiss me.”

Sam practically exploded with a laugh as Luke tauntingly leaned forward, dodging Reggie’s playful swats.

“Reggie, Reggie, gimme a kissy!”

✦ OC Winter Challenge Day 9:

➤ Sam Pincher x Reggie Peters (HELL YEAH LAST NAME)

a/n so this is an au where Flynn can see them and they’re all alive I guess cuz I clearly don’t care about canon lmao

“Ta-da!” Sam jumped out of the hallway, eyes sparkling and smile wide as she looked at the group with glee.

She was not expecting Flynn’s laughter, which could probably have been heard down the whole block.

“What?” Sam frowned as the girl caught her breath, looking to the rest of the gang expectantly.

Flynn finally spoke, “I mean, I knew you had Christmas spirit but this is…ridiculous.”

Sam looked down at her outfit. She was clad in the usual: elf hat with jangly bell, a green and red dress she made from thrifted clothes, peppermint tights, and sparkly black flats.

The girl looked like Christmas threw up on her.

So, to her, she looked perfect.

“I wear this every year,” Sam pouted, eyes darting from everyone’s similar expressions of awe and amusement.

Flynn looked her up and down once more, a playful glint in her eye, “I commend your bravery.”

Julie leaned over the counter, her smile almost as wide as Luke’s, “Wait til you see Reggie.”

Almost as if on cue, the sound of jingling bells came from the hallway. Just a few seconds later, Reggie emerged around the corner, clad in a matching elf outfit: hat, tights, and all.

“Oh-ho-ho-ho. This. This is brilliant.” Alex slung his arm over Willie, who was barely holding back a smirk.

“I think you look great, Reg!” Sam squeaked, throwing herself at him and smacking a kiss to his cheek.

Reggie’s face reddened as a goofy smile found its way on his lips, “I gotta be honest, guys.” The gang watched him, a mutual look of anticipation on their faces. He looked down at the outfit, “I kinda dig it."

✦ OC Winter Challenge Day 16:

 ➤  Sam Pincher x Julie Molina (platonic)

a/n babies!! also im reposting this from yesterday bc I think tumblr shoved it under the rug for whatever reason rip...also also no day 17 bc I spent all day outlining Lee’s story 👀

This was a catastrophe. No — worse than a catastrophe. Worse than dying.

Sam’s jaw was dropped in shock, “What do you mean you’re out of hot chocolate?”

“I mean we’re out of hot chocolate.” Julie leaned on the kitchen counter, a sad smile on her face.

Sam slammed her mouth shut, trying to make the disappointment in her expression melt away.

She couldn’t.

“No. No, it’s fine — I mean, it’s fine.”

“You said that already.”

“I know — I just…” She huffed, falling into the chair near her, “This is awful. No hot chocolate? I might as well be dead.”

“You are dead,” Julie said, but there was no maliciousness in her voice. She walked over to Sam, taking the seat beside her. “And you can’t even drink the hot chocolate.”

“Yeah, but you and Flynn can! Well, could have.”

Sam huffed. It wasn’t that big of a deal…but at the same time, it was. She couldn’t bring herself to look back at Julie, and instead played with the uneven strings of her hoodie.

Julie’s voice broke her already fragile concentration. “This isn’t really about hot chocolate, is it?”

Sam sighed. She didn’t like thinking about the past, especially now that she was dead. Sam was always an optimist — forever a glass half full kind of gal. And thinking about the past reminded her that she could never return to it — to the living. It made her stomach churn.

Still, she spoke, “My friend and I had this…tradition. Every winter break, we would watch any Christmas movie we could get our hands on.” She took a sharp breath in, forcing herself to smile. “And...we would always drink hot chocolate.”

“Oh.” Julie’s eyes were practically pools of pity.

Sam nodded, “I just miss her, is all.”

The kitchen was silent besides the faint Christmas music Julie had turned on not long ago. Sam refocused on her hoodie, twirling the strings around her finger until the skin turned white. That is, until Julie stood up.

“Alright then. Let’s go.”

Sam blinked, not bothering to hide her surprise. “What?”

“Before Flynn gets here, I’m gonna make my dad take me to the store to get hot chocolate.”

Sam’s mouth open and closed like a fish out of water. After a few moments of staring at Julie’s triumphant smile, she slammed her mouth shut, just so she could curve it into a smile as well.

“Make sure you get marshmallows, too.”

Julie smirked, “How could I forget?”

✦ OC Winter Challenge Day 19:

➤  Sam Pincher x Julie, Flynn, and the Phantoms

a/n yes another au where everyone is alive bc I make the rules here heyo

The girls were decorating Christmas cupcakes when Flynn let out a very dramatic groan.

“This looks awful.”

She was staring down at her cupcake, which was her attempt at a Christmas tree made of icing. But really, it looked like…a blob.

Sam shook her head. “I think it looks good!”

“Of course you do,” Flynn said, shoving her cupcake towards the reject pile.

“What is that supposed to mean?"

Julie looked between the two, unsure if she should intervene, but Flynn just rolled her eyes.

“You’d think a pile of trash on a cupcake is appetizing, Sam.” She spoke matter of factly, “You’re too nice.”

Sam’s face immediately fell into a frown. “I’m not too nice.”

Her eyes flicked between the girls, who stared back at her with amused expressions.

Sputtering with disbelief, Sam shook her head. “I am not too nice!"

On any other day, Sam might’ve taken “being too nice” as a compliment. But the way they were saying it, it felt more like she was being called a pushover. And Sam did not want to be a pushover.

So, naturally, Sam decided to prove the girls wrong. She huffed, slammed her icing pipe on the counter, and stomped out to the living room.

The guys had been tasked with decorating the Christmas tree, and, it seemed, were now done. They were currently very busy throwing strings of tinsel at each other — that is, until Sam walked in the room.

The guy’s amused expressions faltered when they noticed the look on her face.

Under their gaze, it was hard to keep up her ruse. Still, Sam mustered up her courage and pursed her lips, making sure to jut her chin out and cross her arms.

“I don’t like how you decorated the tree. Do it again.”

Even though there was Christmas music playing, everything felt ten times more silent. Luke looked to Alex, who looked to Reggie, who watched Sam with wide eyes. Sam tried her best to remain eye contact as each of the boys frowned — she couldn’t tell if they were concerned, confused, or on the verge of laughter. Whatever they were thinking, it was cut short by Sam’s exaggerated sigh.

She slumped her shoulders in defeat, “I lied. I love the tree.”

Luke smiled first, throwing the tinsel in his hands at the girl before him. “Now that’s the Sam we know.”

Sam giggled as the room became lively again; Alex and Luke continued their battle with the tinsel, and Reggie used the tinsel in Sam’s hands to pull her into the seat on the couch next to him.

Sam was fine with being too nice, as long as that meant being too nice to the people she called family.

🍄What are your OCs favourite snacks? Their favourite comfort food which always cheers them up when they’re down? Favourite meal to make? Do they enjoy baking and cooking and are they any good in the kitchen?

Sam will devour sweet anything. Cakes, pies, cookies, you name it. Her grandma used to bake her a lot whenever she visited, so now she has an unhealthy obsession with baked goods. She’s a good baker herself, but she’d much rather eat the food than make it. 

🥀How would your OC decorate a notebook or journal? What kind of things are written in there? Could you give an example of a nice entry?

oh my god. SPARKES. BEDAZZLES. STICKERS. LITERALLY ANYTHING REMOTELY FLASHY. Sam is a DIY girl, so she probably spends more time decorating her notebook than writing in it. And she writes a lot. 

She writes mostly music for piano, some ukulele chord mash-ups, but she isn’t the best with lyrics. One of her first attempts at lyric writing was “roses are red, violets are blue”. Which...you know. Is a start.
