This International Women's Day, we could not conduct a rally due to the COVID19 norms. A week long Workshops on Womens Rights, importance of Gender Equality and breaking Gender Stereotypes were organised at the centres. Today the workshops were concluded by letting our participants paint, draw and sketch to bring their emotions and thoughts out on a paper. We have dozens of pictures but sharing a few with you. Sambhali Trust reopened it's Empowerment Centres for Women and Adolescent Girls on October 1st 2020 as soon as the lockdown started to getting flexible. Many of our participants rejoined, a lot of then left for their native homes and a few couldn't come back because the transportation was not available. During lockdown violence against women and children had raised very much. Sambhali got interviewed twice by the BBC on such matter and many other newspaper interviews were published. Sambhali polished it's existing toll free helpline by hiring experts to deal with the cases and allowed any women to come to the centres and our office for few hours a day following the social distance guidelines. This opportunity gave women a break from the traumatic lifestyle at home and brought them positivity and strength to fight for justice and for what's right. Slowly life is going to the "New Normal" and so are the projects. We want to thank you for standing by Sambhali Trust and for believing in our decisions. Sambhali Trust's Empowerment Centres are safe, fearless, no pressure heaven for women and children. The venue of a project, enrollment of its participants, project implementation, syllabus are all on need and demand basis. Our centres are usually on the door step of our participants. The Trust provides holistic approach for the development of its participants at a grassroots level. Women are trained in sewing and embroidery skills, offered primary education in english, hindi and maths, participants are given general knowledge workshop once a week, above all a place for them to grow inside and unite with women in similar circumstances. Sambhali takes pride in recognized by the ECOSOC of the UN. Success Mantra of the Trust is it's human rights approach towards the participants.
