I binged on Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why last week, and though the teen drama isn’t my favorite series of the year, I must concur that it possesses quite a magnificent soundtrack. In between all its timeless oldies were some fresh treats, like JR JR’s Same Dark Places. The indie pop band from Michigan, formerly known as Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., surprised me with their contribution since I hadn’t caught any rumors about new material since their 2015 self titled album. Same Dark Places is a charming ambler. Though the song is about “dark places”, it feels breezy and buoyant, laid back and comforting. Watch the lyric video for Same Dark Places below.
