I have this stinky new headcanon about Kate being a picky eater. And her being really REALLY close with bruce, almost like siblings. And back then, Kate couldn't really act on her being picky and stuff because of her dad. So now, as an adult and being able to reconnect with Bruce after how long, she's being encouraged to try things at her own pace. And if she didn't like what was being served, Bruce or Alfred were okay with making her her own meal that she liked. (Yes, Bruce can cook. I refuse to think that that man traveled the world to train and didn't learn how to cook.)
