what's that 'the white queens' about? was that hissing good or bad or what? (i trust your knowing in this sort of thing so i'm interested in what you have to say!!!)
haha it’s a phillipa gregory adaptation of elizabeth woodville’s pov on the end of the wars of the roses (elizabeth is the wife of edward iv, who he married despite the advice of his relatives and then sparked a war with his uncle, as you do) and i just. phillipa gregory. i’ve only read her tudors cycle (other boleyn girl and the one about kitty howard i think??) and from what i remember it’s sensationalised and the woman are frequently reduced to very simple stock female characters so. for a storyline that’s dealing with some of my faves (marguerite d’anjou! elizabeth woodville! the nevilles!) i’m not really pleased about it.
mostly i’m upset that this is the ‘last plantagenets’ series we’re getting, when the source material is pretty weak sensationalising shit and bleh to begin with
(i have heard rumors that elizabeth woos edward iv with magic or something SO AGH)
(sunne in splendour would have been super preferable despite my riii ambiguity basically)
