now that i'm posting about comatelma again i should finally release these from the archives. part of a 2024 series i never finished of cmtm characters in outfits based on arizona tea cans

my original planning scribbles. daewon is lemon, julian is raspberry, samshulann is kiwi strawberry and ramiel is mucho mango

them all together... i would go back and finish daewon and ramiel but i feel like my style/how i draw them has evolved a little and they'd look out of place. and i have so much other stuff i wanna draw!!!

and all of these are revisiting a 2020 drawing with the same concept (julian was lemon in this one instead). sam didn't wear big long skirts yet and julian was blond and cis. really scary

since i've posted their doc, here's a bunch of comatelma scribbles i've done in the past week

descriptions under the cut

1: working on redesigning wiltkewan (who also needs a new name) + notes on heaven + more drawings of angel null

2: beginning of arc 1 + pre-story stuff

3: non-canon idea for julian if i were to go full "edgy fallen angel" with him, julian's mangled back, and random baby julian + ramiel

4: figuring out daewon's outfit because i'm not happy with his current one. i need to think more about what seungyeon put in the time capsule, those are probably the only things he'd REALLY want to wear

5: sam doing nothing, julian at a pistons game, wiltkewan doing nothing (and i also forgot her missing eye again LOL), daewon doing nothing. julian is a pistons fan because they're red and blue and also i think he'd like cade

6: figuring out ramiel's outfit because i'm not happy with her current one, in retrospect i'll probably keep the hoodie. also sam in the corner with lyrics from "... well, better than the alternative" by will wood

7: another sam continuing from the last page + me figuring out his (and wiltkewan's) "old heaven" looks (i really like the idea of them wearing helmets or headdresses when they're doing their god stuff)

8: top is pretty self-explanatory, samshulann and daewon both believe they shouldn't be alive for different reasons. bottom is a little moment from the beginning of arc 2. here's a 2022 doodle also from that

january 2024 doodle dump

descriptions and such below

1: middle school me as my fursona. i realized that i could draw myself with baby tapir spots and i was like 'well holy shit i have to do it now'. also featuring jeff the killer as an opossum

2: my ocs sam and julian based on this post. hopefully this will be the year of me drawing my ocs more LOL i obviously like drawing hivemind but i want to actually Do Something with my ocs this year at some point

3. saw a post that said january 16th is "appreciate a dragon day" so i doodled this of my dragonsona at mach speed before i went to bed

4: i drew this as part of a tutorial thing to help a friend out with drawing from reference without going crazy. however i do not feel like posting the whole tutorial. just enjoy long(er) hair hatless riley

5: riley's fursona except i drew the pic from 2018 where he has the exact same hair as sunset shimmer from mlp

6: i loved dignan's matching hat and sweater in the recent best tweets video so of course i drew him as a furry in it

mid-october - end of 2023 sketchbook highlights

descriptions and such below

1: front page of the sketchbook cus i like to do something a little more elaborate for that. however i didnt have any ideas so i just drew me with the three groups of characters/people that i like to draw (my sumakha ocs, hivemind, and my comatelma ocs)

2: doodles from after kenny beecham's hivemind appearance adding him to the hmfcu (hivemind furry cinematic universe). usually i avoid giving people domestic cat/dog sonas but i associate dogs with sports so much and ALL i know about kenny is that he likes basketball. so hes a dog

3: notes about furry shit. one thing about me is i love to draw comparative furry anatomy diagrams

4: bunch of quad doodles after the release of scrapyard III (mostly based on the easier mv but guess who quad is also there). i changed his fursona to a sheep literally RIGHT after my hiatus started LOL

5: random hivemind stuff from the same day as the scrapyard III doodles

6: i have catboy toxoplasmosis (also ft. my friends and i at the bottom)

7: redraw of one of hiveminds instagram pics :-) so cute creachers

8-9: redraws of older art (first one is here and second is... something i never posted LOL) but in my Silly Mode artstyle that i developed so i can have a little fun whenever im feeling frustrated with my Normal Style. it's somewhat inspired by @crosssssky's hivemind art, please go follow them!

10-11: oc stuff (and graydon and dignan at the bottom of 11). love hivemind but im hoping my brain will cool down on them in 2024 cus im planning to actually Do Something with my ocs this year. idk when ill actually post about that tho

12: bidding farewell to 2023... im so good at drawing exactly four different furry species now

i have finally regained the ability to draw in my sketchbook consistently so heres a good ole-fashioned sketchdump

image 1: self portrait for the start of the sketchbook, i like to start them with something more polished. ive been having a rough year so its a bit melancholy. there were some lines in that yellow spot but they didnt scan well TT

image 2: yuna, sam and julian's kid after the end of comatelma. i actually made her up a while ago but back then she was an adopted kid, now i changed her to be a bio kid since julian can get pregnant. "nephilim" dont have angel powers but still retain parts of the full-angel phenotype as noted in the pic

image 3: my dragonsona rearing up all angry based on a pic of a tiger. also him at the bottom chewing on a Meat Stress Ball because i was very anxious that day

image 4: self portrait and lord of the rings fanart because i watched the two towers with my dear friend aeneas a few nights before

hello tumblr dot com it is a personal holiday for me...

it's my oc story's 5th birthday :-D so i wanted to do something special. aka just finally draw a lineup for them. i never did one before because it felt like too much effort (its really not)/i didnt want it to get outdated (all art gets outdated eventually so who cares) but i figured... its been half a decade i might as well

i was a freshman in high school when i first made these guys (it was literally my first day as a freshman too LOL) which is crazy. these stupid fictional fellows have been here for me thru high and low. it feels kinda goofy ascribing so much importance to them but i fr would go insane if i couldnt project my feelings onto them LOL
