Refreshing photography lessons at Samy's Camera in Pasadena.

Doing some courses in Los Angeles before leaving. Going here and there. And "there" taking sometimes 3 hours. Few adventures on the way. But we're very lucky and find amazing places on the way. So nevermind, we stay focused and quite laidback. There are lots of things to be seen anyway. Even from the car.
We're just very impatient to move out of the city to "really" begin the project and live the roads.
I rented an Arri hard light and a c-stand at Samy's Camera yesterday. The dude who attend me made great small talk. He's a skinny older gentlemen with long hair and a couple tats. He seems like a fellow who knows a lot about film and probably has countless stories regarding the field. In order to rent, you gotta provide a driver's license. I have him mines. He attended me before but this time was lively. He mentioned a jazz artist named Ray Anthony. I was very intrigued. I never knew. He briefly told me about him. He wasn't too sure if he played with a trumpet but he was for sure a band leader. We talked a little about jazz. I told him that I will sure look into Ray Anthony. He was pretty nice. The rental came out to be $22 bucks with a $400 insurance deposit. I'm not worried at all, I'm pretty responsible borrowing expensive materials. The light costs more than $200. I'm not sure about the c stand. The stand is pretty heavy. I forgot to mention, I also rent a 25 lb. sandbag to keep the stand level. I got the stuff and as I was walking to the parking dude to get my keys, a dude said "Lou Reed is dead." He was referring to my shirt. It was this old dude with about 2 or 3 cameras on him. He looks like Santa Claus' cool brother who's a photographer. He repeated the same sentence and opened up his hand for a hand shake. I jokingly made a frown and shook his hand. I smiled. He said he was sorry and I nodded. I told him that he lives on in my heart and he instantly agreed. I walked away. He then yelled "The Velvet Underground!" "That's right!" with a thumb's up to him. He then told me he loves all of his music. It was awesome. Lovely moment. He knows, man. He sure knows. I get home and I researched about Ray Anthony. He plays the trumpet and is still around to this day. He still does music and is a close friend of Hugh Hefner. He composed the song we all listened and danced when we were kids, "The Hokey Pokey." He composed the "Dragnet" which is pretty bitchin'. I return the materials Monday morning. I hope I see that dude.

Had a lesson with Sharon today at pickwick. We worked on program details and triple loops and such. Afterschool, I went to Samy's Camera to drop off the rolls of film I shot over the weekend, an on the way out, some French photographer visiting LA said he wanted to have a photo-shoot with me! I think sometime in the near future I will contact him when my schedule starts to open up again. That boosted my self confidence :) tee hee :))

Beer, Breakfast Wraps & Kat Von D
Last night Matt & Jen joined us for a night in drinking beers and talking music.
Woke up this morning with a bit of a headache, made some breakfast wraps for Tim & Clancy.
They're standing next to Kat Von D at Samy's Camera right now.
I'm doing laundry and surfing the net.
Typical Saturday around these parts.
