I keep hoping we'll see her character come back in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Her colleague, geologist/seismologist Houston Brooks (Corey Hawkins) already returned (albeit older) in Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), played by Joe Morton.

just watched Kong: skull island (for tom Hiddleston why else) but I gotta say that I got far too emotionally attached to the biologist, San Lin. they're killing off all these characters and I'm sitting there like 'i don't care who dies as long as it's not the biologist.' I didn't even know her name until I looked it up to see if she was gonna survive, that's how stressed I was abt it. like look at her:

I have two theories as to why Houston Brooks is still working for Monarch despite him retiring in the events of Skull Island: The Birth of Kong.

Theory 1: San convinced him to stay in Monarch after he found Aaron's message and help his son establish what would eventually become Outpost 33 on Skull Island.

Theory 2 (and probably the most likely theory): Brooks was reinstated in 2014 following the incursions by Godzilla and the M.U.T.O.s.
