~As impossible and utopic as it may be, Dimitri’s hopes aim for a world that’s no longer unfair.
One where all can live happily, not having to worry about losing a dear one prematurely, where wars are a thing of the past and problems can be solved through discussions where everyone’s preferences are taken into consideration equally.
Truly, Dimitri knows that there’s a chance that his ideal dream is just that. A dream. But he’ll do everything in his power to bring it into reality, to give people a chance to live a fair life.
And those exact positive beliefs are what cause him to punish himself so roughly. He feels like he doesn’t have the right to think of such a great and fair world while he wishes to solve things through bloodhshed for the sake of the dead. But he can’t really ignore those either- so live with both, it is.
Dimitri really tries to keep his dream alive despite this conflict. For the sake of others, never for himself.

☹ Someone they avoid or try to avoid
relationship memes - closed. workin’ through these.
♠ ~ At a guess, uhhh, Seteth? He kinda seems like the sort of straight-laced disciplinarian that Farina would try to avoid. Otherwise, uh, anyone who speaks highly of duties and responsibilities would cause Farina to run the hell away.
She practically left the knightly order just to get away from those kinds of expectations and to set her own price tag for herself. That she was the determinator of her own fate and not any outside power or authority. That was what freedom meant to her.
As Silque had been preparing various gifts for her friends, there was still one person she had yet to send a gift to. Though she'd like to think she knew him well enough—with her traveling alongside his crew during the war—she was stumped on a gift to give. She wanted it to be special and enough to express her gratitude toward his endearing and valiant traits. If not for him, who knows where she would be today? (1/2)
(2/2) Finally, although it took a little longer than she was hoping, she appears before the saint king with a present in hand, wrapped as she had the others, polished and ornate. "Happy Day of Devotion, Alm." She waits for him to open it and reveal a painting of a cat, but not just any cat, one dressed to each of its nine lives. As if it were— "An aristocat." Barely flinching at her own pun, she smiles softly. Sometimes gifts didn't need to have a deep meaning so long as the sentiment was there.
Sometimes, Alm wondered what he did to deserve such awesome friends. Besides, you know, being a kind person and taking down a demented God and saving Valentia as a whole. Honestly, anyone else could have done that if they were born with the Brand.
Silque had appeared before him. It seems that he was popular around here. ❝ Oh hey, Silque! ❞ Greeting was laid-back and informal, just as one would expect from “Farm Boy” Alm. He noted that she held a present, ornately decorated and polished. This earned Silque a earnest smile, ear to ear. Alm didn’t expect anything less from her. ❝ This is for me? Thank you, Silque! It feels like I’ve been getting presents left and right today. I mean, I know it’s to be expected, considering the date, but I’m getting embarrassed! Haha...! ❞ As Alm (gently) opened the little parcel, he comes face to face with a painting of a cat.
His breath hitches, and then he’s squealing like a schoolgirl. An elegant “aristocrat” dressed up to the nines starred back at him. The young king felt like a boy again. He stops starring for a minute to give a thankful look back up to the gift-giver. …Wait, had she seriously made a cat pun? Ah, a woman of culture. Well, two could play at that game.
Alm’s earnest grin turns sly. He’s cooking up something. ❝ Hey., this little guy’s got style. Perhaps he’d want to join the royal court? He looks pawsitively stunning.❞ Silque wasn’t the only one who could make puns that are so bad they circle around to being funny.

maria is a very expressive person, her emotions most often and clearly seen in her facial expressions and her hands, with her body language being more telling than her face when it comes to her more negative emotions. in particular, when she is nervous or shy, she tends to make herself a bit smaller somehow-- tilting her head down, bringing her hands or whatever she’s holding in them close to her chest, just generally shrinking a bit.
as for habits, she tends to seek out places with a good view of the sky when she feels lonely. macedon being a country dominated by fliers, she has many fond memories tied to both looking at the sky and being in it; even if she is not recalling any specific one, she has such fondness for it that simply seeing it is a comfort in and of itself.
She isn't sure why she feels compelled to do this today, but regardless of the sender's intent, a small batch of cookies and a weaved flower crown is left outside Maria's dorm. A folded letter is slid under the door that reads as follows: "Dear Somebody, It is strange, I felt the urge to gift an arbitrary stranger, perhaps it was something I saw in a dream once. Either way, I hope your day is wonderful. From, Someone." Hopefully, the recipient likes flowers and cookies.
So busy is Maria with tidying her room in the midday lull that she doesn’t notice the letter slid under her door until long after its sender has left. There is a familiar sort of excitement that buzzes to the very ends of her fingertips as she unfolds it with practiced care, as though she has been waiting and waiting for such a thing to arrive. Curious, that; she’d never had a pen pal before, had she?
The sender seems to be just as confused as she is, compelled by something unknown to write to someone equally unfamiliar. And yet... it is gentle, and she smiles when she opens the door to a pair of gifts. They are flower crown and a bag of cookies, and they feel right. Except...
“But I was supposed to make the cookies,” she murmurs softly in protest, and then stops. The heartache is so sudden, so inexplicably lonely, and she finds herself rubbing at her eyes.
“I wanted to make them for you...”
The letter is the only one that sits upon her desk, but she treasures it all the same.

Music, to Marth, is associated with a simpler period of his life. Like Merric, he had lovingly shared his early education with Elice up until a certain age, until his status as Altea’s crown prince caused their paths to diverge. After splitting away from a general curriculum of history, public speaking, and writing, he was set on the more specialized tracks of foreign policy and—in particular—swordsmanship. Learning an art of war was entirely inapplicable to his older sister, a clerical apprentice, and music alone remained the one subject they could continue studying together.
She took to the lyre, as most royal Altean women did, and Marth followed suit out of his admiration. It’s been many years since then and he’s forgotten how to play. The strings feel graceless and numb against the calloused pads of his fingers, as if his hands were no longer built for gentler work, but he still bears a fondness for music regardless. A quiet appreciation for the grand orchestras dotted throughout the Pales and even the humbler examples to be found in Archanea’s wayside taverns.
