7. What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?

For Gaara, I think the first thing that changes is a willingness to open up to Lee. In the sense of sharing small worries, bits of his history. Sort of testing the waters of intimacy by offering small pieces of himself, because he’s still cautious about being hurt. Lee of course would never hurt Gaara on purpose, so I think his response to those small disclosures probably instills a lot of confidence in Gaara. The second thing is probably casual touch. Once he’s more comfortable, I think he would try to open up to Lee on a physical level (probably by imitating the ways he sees Lee interact with other people and how he sees others interact with the people they like), because that seems like a way that people establish bonds with others. He’s definitely not prepared for how much he likes it, and is definitely very overwhelmed. 

For Lee, I think he’s a little more all-or-nothing. He doesn’t slowly test the waters, he jumps in with both feet. (Remember the first time he saw Sakura and declared he’d protect her with his life in front of like five dozen bloodthirsty preteens? I don’t think he ever gets that far away from that.) So he probably goes straight from realizing he likes Gaara in a more-than-friends way to concerted attempts to woo him. Unfortunately for Lee, his main source of inspiration for how you treat your most precious person is ... probably Gai and Kakashi, so I imagine he spends quite a bit of time challenging Gaara to stupid bullshit and getting shot down. He probably also tries to take him on dates, but they’re so similar to how they already spend time as friends (”Gaara, come watch me training!”, “Gaara, let’s go get sushi!”) that Gaara probably doesn’t realize they’re dates at first. He does appreciate the flowers, though.

okay uhhhh...... i have a deep-rooted NEED to get over 95% or higher in EVERYTHING i do in school because i have issues because my dad drilled it into me as a child that i need to be perfect and any mistake i make is unacceptable. my classes this semester are WAY harder than i’m used to and i still have above 90% in everything and objectively i know these are excellent marks but i have such a complex about it that i can’t stop beating myself up.

     IT’S AN INTOXICATING AROMA, STRONG, BOLD, MADE WITH LOVE. The constant droplets that never cease, whistling from the expensive machines, there’s laughter && chatter with wary eyes that are too tired. It’s a perfect disguise, even if the counterpart at the front seems out of place, too skittish with his white hair && blackened nails, a friendly smile lightly dusted in melancholy. Bells, an alert for an intruder comes in, an alert for a new face or wandering soul in need of charity - somewhere to temporarily call home in an existence that often was bleak. He moves quickly, placing down the old book with its shattered spine, lovingly read a thousand times to the point the words were imprinted on his fingertips. “Morning, @sandarmor” the singular ocular shows mirth, hesitation, as if he was searching for something in particular that could not be named before proceeding. “A new face, you’re not one of the regulars” fingers hook underneath his chin, head tilted ever so, then he laughs && it nearly sounds as sweet as the decadent caramel drinks.
