Her preferred weapon of choice...

...is her hands!

There's just something very ironic and awesome about an engineer girl that could build any weapon, could hide behind turrets and robots, but she's a pugilist.

It's also just the perfect fake-out. "This Harbinger specializes in machines? I bet without them, she'd be easy- Oop. Welp, there goes all of my bones."

Sandrone also doesn't care for honor like Capitano does. She'll pull hair, do cheap shots, use capes to choke people out, bring in robots to overwhelm her opponents because in a fight, she can't afford to lose.

This was supposed to be a comic where Sandrone kicks Aether's ass super-cool-like but comics are so hardddddddddddd I hate them. There's formatting then you need space for the dialogue, and it's just all a massive hassle, so it was either spend all of my very limited time making the damn thing or finish just this page, and, well, here it is

Sandrone Headcanons

Note: While I didn't care much about Sandrone when the Harbinger teaser trailer had dropped, my interest in her grew recently!

~ ✧ I headcanon her real name to be "Bridgitte".

~ ✧ Now, because Sandrone's codename is "Marionette", i.e. "The Puppet" instead of "Puppeteer", I wondered whether she was a human or not.

~ ✧ I now headcanon that Sandrone was born human centuries ago, but (for whatever reason) eventually had her consciousness placed into a puppet she created in her image.

~ ✧ She did this some time after Kunikuzushi joined the Fatui.

~ ✧ Just as Dottore used Kunikuzushi as a blueprint for his segments, Sandrone used him as a blueprint to create her puppet body.

~ ✧ In a leaked image where all the Harbingers are lined up, you can see that Sandrone has a key in her back.

~ ✧ Though I'm pretty sure Sandrone's body is a puppet, she doesn't need to have the key in her back. It's just there for ✨aesthetic✨.

~ ✧ After Fontaine was released, I started thinking that Sandrone used to be an engineer from the Fontaine Research Institute.

~ ✧ I think she would have been an incredibly haughty, but talented engineer dedicated to helping Fontaine.

~ ✧ She was the one who designed and produced the Gardemeks.

~ ✧ At the time, she considered the Gardemeks to be her finest work. But it infuriated her that they were wasted helping a nation that made a spectacle of the courtroom.

~ ✧ A nation with a "god" so useless that she was seen as a mascot by her own people.

~ ✧ Archons, her Gardemeks could do a better job than that fraud.

~ ✧ Something she believed in so strongly, she once tried to stage a revolt against the Hydro Archon.

~ ✧ Unfortunately, Neuvillette put a stop to that real quick.

~ ✧ Luckily, before she could go to trial, Pierro got to her to convince her to join the Fatui and create machines for the Tsaritsa's cause.

~ ✧ You cannot tell me that Sandrone isn't arrogant as hell.

~ ✧ She is the most prideful bitch in the Fatui, second to Scaramouche only because she didn't have plans to turn herself into a god.

~ ✧ In Childe's voiceline about her, he says that Sandrone looks at him like she wants to kill him, but he doesn't know why.

~ ✧ I think at one point, Childe once (accidentally) destroyed some of her work, but he doesn't remember and Sandrone is still incredibly pissed at him for it.

~ ✧ She's definitely one to hold grudges.

~ ✧ More often than not, holes herself up in her workshop and lives off of coffee.

~ ✧ Much like that modified Ruin Guard she has carry her around, Sandrone has a bunch of meks working both as her assistants and as proof of her progress.

~ ✧ A couple of months ago I posted this poll regarding whether or not I should have Sandrone be able to walk in my upcoming headcanons and her being able to walk won.

~ ✧ In spite of being able to walk, Sandrone has her modified Ruin Guard carry her everywhere, partly to show off her work, but also because she likes it.

~ ✧ Due to the fact that the Adventurer's Guild is headquartered in Snezhnaya and the similarity in their outfits, I think Sandrone is the one who created Katheryne and had a Katheryne placed in a guild in each nation.

~ ✧ Even though she and Arlecchino are both from Fontaine and hold issues with Focalors, the two of them were never close.

~ ✧ She does feel a sense of superiority knowing that while Arlecchino would still be vulnerable to Primordial Seawater, she would be safe due to her puppet body.

Sandrone Headcanon - III

"Haah... Some Harbinger I am..."

This one comes from an interpretation of Wanderer's voice line about how "all Sandrone creates is garbage." So, I thought about what exactly is garbage to him, and since he is a sentient puppet (with an ego), I assume what would be beneath him would be mechanical beings that lack any sentience.

But this is the fun part, it is my belief that Sandrone CAN create beings with sentience; during her "childhood," she learned about what connections needed to be made in the robotic brain to achieve sentience, but she chooses not to.

Because even if you are a thinking creature doesn't mean you have a good standard of living. Even in herself, there are aspects of the human experience that she is yet to replicate, like the sense of touch. It is hell. Alain brought her into a world she can only see and hear, but never feel, and she refuses to repeat his mistakes.

But there are times where she thinks about it.

Where the whole world cheers her name, the revolutionary genius, FAR greater than that rotten artificer, Alain Guillotin. It was HER hands that built herself, not his.

But she tells herself that sentient beings are much harder to control than simple machines. What she actually knows is if she brought her machines to life experiencing the same hell as she does, she couldn't forgive herself. So she is trapped between being better than her creator technologically or being better than him morally.

Her co-workers are unaware of her moral debate, regarding her with disinterest or disdain. (Except Columbina, she's an outlier.) The thoughts always return, imagining their shock at her hidden genius and her soaking it in with smug pride. But it must remain hidden. Any compliments would be short-lived, this she knows. It will always be about what is next. So she retreats into her workshop, where she improves her creations or her own flesh indefinitely.

As I got to work on the background and the table, my face became like Sandrone's lol. Rendering is a fuck.

I'm happy to be done with it, I did just finish it this morning, so I'll probably feel more proud of it later.

Also I love Limbus Company, so I made it in that style kinda. That is what the little bit on the bottom is about. I realize that I'll need to refine the icon later, and also make it just 3 colors instead of rendering, but for now I'm done.

I do love Limbus Company so much. To be honest, I fell off Genshin before Fontaine happened, then I played HSR, and now I've fallen off of that in favor of Limbus. I am taking notes from Project Moon when thinking about Sandrone's writing, because its writing is truly zenith material.

I'm going to be brutally honest about a kinda popular headcanon for Sandrone.

It's the one where she turns people into dolls.

I don't vibe with that headcanon because like, it feels cheap.

It's like "evil person associated with dolls? She makes people into dolls. Boom, done!" and it's a very one-note interpretation.

It turns her into a serial killer with a gimmick. In my opinion, it takes away nuance from what would be an interesting character. Plus, it's not like it hasn't been done before, because doing cruel, dehumanizing experiments on people is Dottore's schtick. You're still retreading old ground, but it's just doll-themed this time. I would hope that each of the Harbingers would be unique in their own ways.

I don't really want to snub other people's headcanons because if you enjoy a character, go with god, feel free to put your own remix on them.

But, I have opinions, and if my opinion sucks, ignore my opinion. I just don't want to be scared to share my opinions.

Sandrone Headcanon - II

Sandrone is an Artist

Sandrone is not merely a mechanic. If mechanics were all that mattered to her, she would not put so much effort into the details of her creations. They would be built for function, not form.

But she does. Her guard gets dressed in a dapper suit, Katheryne has a dress that mirrors Sandrone's own, and Sandrone's outfit is peak drip.

This is a chance to gush, Sandrone is truly my favorite design because her design is very distinct but readable, they don't go overboard on the details like with other characters, so she's not a nightmare to draw! And I'd like to say this skill transfers over to the character, because her robot and Katheryne also have this design choice, detailed but not overwhelmingly so, with also a strong element of symmetry. I certainly appreciate Katheryne's design a lot more after this. Shame Mihoyo gave her ugly NPC face.

Back to the headcanon, because she is apparently a recluse and not many agents know what she looks like, she likely does all this by herself.

Sketching out the concept for both the mechanics and designs, welding, sewing, haberdashery, embroidery, the whole nine yards.

I like to imagine she enjoys it. Better than coding.

Of course, she probably hands off the Adventurer's Guild designs to a Snezhnayan tailor, possibly a sweatshop depending on what Snezhnaya is like, because she doesn't have the time (or cares) to make an outfit for whatever random Joe decides to join. The clothing industry might fall under Pulcinella's or Pantalone's wheelhouse.

The Tsaritsa (or Pierro) probably calls on Sandrone for help with interior designing for balls and social gatherings. She probably just goes "that's shit, that's shit, fix that, move that table to the right, okay bye". Maybe they just send her pictures.

I also like to imagine she judges who to interact with based on how they present themselves. Arlecchino, Lumine, the Archons, any character with that good drip, she'll give them the time of day (until her social battery runs out). Dripless mfs, like Aether, Dottore, NPCs that are wearing the Genshin signature potato sack, nah, get out of her face.

I'm not going to get into the Why she is an artist, or at least, what being an artist means to her character because that has a very complicated answer. I'll get into it further down the road.

I think I want to talk about Sandrone and how she feels about the Harbinger position.

I'm just going to say she's not a big fan of being a Harbinger, because it is a position that comes with a lot of responsibility, and she has to work, she has to work a lot. She manages the spy network and the Guild, creates new advancements for Snezhnaya like the weapons the Fatui use or the Great Railroads of the North, has to satisfy the whims of her coworkers in exchange for favors and of course, official summons by the Tsaritsa. She really doesn't care for all this work. While Sandrone may agree that the gods suck and they haven't looked favorably upon her (this version doesn't have a vision), the goals of the Tsaritsa are very much not her concern.

All Sandrone wants is to research machines, so she can bring her own quality of life up. She has only two senses, sight and hearing, and she would like to find a way to let her feel. And the role of Harbinger is the ticket to that. In exchange for responsibility, she gets financial security, a functionally infinite amount of materials to work with, as well as a title of respect, fear, and safety.

The safety part I want to linger on because it's important to note. In the beginning of her life, she did not have anything. She had crawled her way to freedom and killed her creator. But it was still obvious that she wasn't human. And if she didn't take the offer to be a Harbinger, it is very likely she would not have survived.

And that's why it's really annoying when people judge her as the root of evil because she is a Harbinger. Because this is the best possible chance for her to reach success. Should success have been measured by how intelligent, how hardworking, how innovative you are, they might have a point. But it is not measured by that. It is measured by how lucky you are and how many chances you get. And Sandrone is a disabled non-human, someone without much luck in the first place, someone people could put to death if they so pleased without losing a wink of sleep because she's a robot. So when people say that Sandrone is evil because she took the offer to get as many chances as she could, it's basically saying to her "you should have condemned yourself from ever being happy because I want to feel better about the world I live in."
