Sandwich Week at Gonella’s! It’s been a busy week full of food and friends.

I took a walk around the neighborhood after eating lunch; this was my first time in this part of the city, and even though it’s extremely industrial, I love this use of space along the Rouge River. I stumbled on this little park, which is just down the street from Gonella’s. 12/29/23

Day 5 Sandwich Week very best Club Sandwich.  My Personal Sandwich Week, Named as the week between Christmas and NewYear's. I do my thing by myself, just don't play well with others. A Club like no other on Toasted Rye be Bacon, Turkey, Dearborn Brand Ham n Kowalsky Kielbasa for the Win OMG. I named it Kayla's Club she owns the place, could only eat half. A bowl of the Famous Split Pea Soup and Onion Rings always spot on Delicious. A must try they located on Southfield between Fort n I-75. Day 2 Sandwich Week my new Favorite Itailan Sub since Alcamos owners retired.  My Personal Sandwich Week, Named as the week between Christmas and New Year's. A mega deal only 7 bucks plus double Meat only 2 bucks more. 9 fifty gets you 16 layers run through the garden, even had Jalapeno for the Win. Had this Sub many times, a true Detroit Classic. A very nice Deli back of store making dozens of great sandwiches and Hot Soup some fantastic Chili too. Place packed with Happy shoppers every day open till close. Easy to find just around the corner from Roman Village a must try on your Foodie venture. Downriver is the Grinder capital of Michigan with a dozen places, bet you didn't know. Our favorite sandwich Downriver going on 30 year's soon. Grinder like no other around our state. Grinder is Sicilian Sandwich that was named for 'grinders,' Italian-American slang for dockworkers (who were often sanding and grinding rusty hulls to repaint them). Had this great Sandwich could only eat half and Split Pea Soup.
