└ i think they would’ve started talking because MK suggested Macaque tries to find ways to release his stress, and the monkey didn’t wanna go to an actual therapist so, therapy cats it was.
└ They eventually started having casual conversation while Mac was there, at first because Macaque couldn’t stand he awkwardness, but eventually it was because he sub consciously wanted to talk to Sandy.
└ But this process took quite a few months, and they didn’t get together until a year and a half post LBD.
└ But even after so much time Macaque was very hesitant on touch unless he initiated it. He had to be the one to throw his arm around someone, he had to be the one to playfully punch someone’s shoulder. If someone else did it he either flinched and played it off, or just dodged it completely.
└ Macaque gets super flushed when Sandy points out his progress, but not in a negative way. Sure it’s embarrassing to know he’s gotten so close to someone, but it’s helped to just try to not think about it. But Sandy notices when Macaque started hugging him with both arms not just one; when he lets Sandy touch him first on occasion.
└ Once Macaque is comfortable in the relationship he’ll start being flirty. Tired of people acting like Sandy is innocent, we all know what he said he was like, and also HE’S A WHOLE ADULT. cough, anyway. Sandy sometimes flirts back.
└ Sandy asked if he could help clean Mac’s fur one day, and sometimes the monkey will shuffle towards him slowly and ask if the bigger could do it for him. Sandy wasn’t allowed to touch his ears for months though.
└ Their relationship doesn’t really start out as a “will you be my boyfriend?” situation, eventually Macaque and Sandy just get more affectionate w each other until someone asks if they’re dating. Sandy kind of just thought they were but didn’t give it too much thought because neither asked. Macaque didn’t really think about his feelings until the question was popped out.
└ Mac when he first starting visiting had actually hissed at any cats that hissed at him, Sandy always kinda just laughed and moved on.
└ Macaque is the first one to say I love you!! shocker!! but i think Sandy would wait for Mac to say it first, he knows a good summary of Mac’s past relationships and doesn’t wanna make him uncomfy by rushing anything
└ Mac can easily travel via shadows, but at some point he opts for sitting on Sandy’s arm or shoulder.
└ After the monkey is comfortable, when they’re alone he gives Sandy lots of kisses. Listen, i’m talking all over his arms, face, etc. They’re usually kinda quick. But Sandy, Sandy doesn’t hesitate to give Macaque kisses on both sides of his face, his lips, his hands, and give him compliments while doing so. It’s not too much for Mac once he gets used to it.
└ Mac tries a bunch of teas for Sandy, and Sandy tries coffee for Mac. Macaque likes his coffee black, he’s just gotten used to it because he can’t always get creamer, and he just prefers it. So he has Sandy try it black and he hates it, he might not have said so but Mac could tell. So he sighs and puts creamer he leaves in Sandy’s house in it, just in case he wants pizzazz in his coffee that day. Then has him retry it, and boom Sandy is in love with two things.
