Happy Thursday, and welcome to today's Chalk Art Time-Lapse Throw-back. Let's go back to 2013 where I appeared at the Long Beach Comic Con and created a really cool piece for Sandy King Carpenter and Storm King Productions.
This was for the cover of the book "Asylum", and the original art was by Leonardo Manco and Kinsun Loh. The final mural was 9 feet wide by 13 feet tall and took about 28 hours to complete.
Interesting Trivia: The Long Beach Comic Con appearance was a 2 day show, but my murals take roughly 3 days of work to complete. So to ensure that I would be done on time by Sunday, I spent Friday before the convention opened doing my first 8 hours of coloring on the show floor, surrounded by union workers loading in and building the show layout. No convention attendees would see the piece until my second day.
That first lonely day of work in a large under-construction hall also happened to be my birthday.
