I just read your addition to a post about people's ignorance on snakes and sharing the bit about Renfield and I just about died laughing. I am so sorry people have said that to you but the way you responded has made my night.
The incident where I was told that Renfield was going to eat me was HILARIOUS IN GENERAL. I am terrible at small talk and I was at this party and the topic of pets came up, so I mentioned my snakes and I guess the guy who told me that had never heard of a sand boa. He just launched into this story about boa constrictors measuring people and how boa constrictors would eat you and how I had a dangerous boa and I just kinda stared at him and said very quietly “my snake is ten inches long.”
“...oh.”
The guy seriously thought that this animal could eat an entire human.
