100%!!! It just feels like they kind of knew exactly what was coming when they got with him, and even kind of tried to warn themself and him about it. Really sad in hindsight, I can't imagine what it was like to play it live for the first time (ever) after they separated. It was never a positive or hopeful song, but now it's just heartbreaking.

I feel the vibes, I do. It's a beautiful song, and the wistfulness and longing is really effective. I think the cheating thing is most of what keeps me from truly falling in love with it, though. Just leaves a little bitter taste in my mouth. But I certainly don't think it's like, a sign of weak convictions or anything when people do like the theme of IST! It's just not for me. <3

And yeah, I tend to roll my eyes a little when artists make their "my dreams came true but things are still bad" songs lol. Obviously artists write what they know, and becoming famous/rich is going to hugely change someone's life and what they experience. But like... it's very alienating to me as a lower-middle class rando lmao. I do like the vocals in "Alone" a lot, but the lyrics are just so far removed from my own experience that I can't connect with it much. I never liked Still Learning for that reason, because nothing about the production or vocals or lyrics was enough to catch my interest.

I’m pretty sure it’s you who made this post, but I was also convinced that Lottie was Lisa’s mom, so when I saw the latest episode I was like “What?? Did they forget that Lottie is her mom?” Hahaha

I'm so glad my confusion spread XD Pahahaha. Legit I kept waiting for the "Lisa is Lottie's daughter" reveal so when Lisa was like "I'm gonna go visit my mom" I definitely had my own moment of "???"

I was really expecting Lisa and Lottie to be related. Lisa just looks so much like a young Lottie to me. But I was totally off-base, lmao.
