I laid my cheek on his hair. "Am I hurting you?" He dropped a feather-light kiss to my chin. "Constantly."
The Jasad Heir – Sara Hashem
me reading the last 100 pages of the jasad crown
I read the Jasad heir last year. And again this year. I'm halfway through the Jasad crown. And let me tell you. Sara Hashem is doing enemies to lovers RIGHT. I made a post months ago about how Rachel Gillig does a good job of showing and not telling and Sara Hashem takes the spot next to Rachel Gillig for that skill. Most of the time these days; it's enemies to insta love (lust more often than not) and Sara Hashem is making filling my heart with the yearning and tiny observations that Slyvia (Essiya) and Arin make about each other.
Sara Hashem. I love you.
Life does not allow you opportunities to travel down every path, to see the outcome of every choice. You can spend your entire existence frozen in one spot, squinting into the future, or you can decide to move. Pick a path and never look back.
— The Jasad Crown by Sara Hashem
"I can’t promise to always stay, I said to his skin. But I can promise to never stop trying to come back. " and "All of me is written in your name," and " I knew my days of running were coming to a close. I could go anywhere I wanted, but my destination would always be him. He had made himself the threshold to a world where it might be finally safe to land. To stay." and "Birds had practiced their sweet songs for generations, but even their music did not compare to the sound of Arin’s laugh." and "What appeal can reason have in the face of your tears ?" and "After a lifetime of running, he was my homecoming." and "Even though one day I would kneel before Jasad’s judges in the afterlife to account for it, I would not renounce a single moment of loving the Nizahl heir. " and "He should know better than to share his smiles with me. I should know better than to crave them. "
