It seems as if all of you are afraid of me... I don’t bite~
Go on and talk to me. Don’t make me force you to speak.

so i went to the doctor today, and she brought up the topic of Weight Loss Surgery. Now listen, I’ve been done this road and heard the spiel before; i’ve been fat my whole life, but this is the first time i’ve genuinely thought about it.
So, i went home, did some research, and the surgery i think would be the best fit (should i decide to go through with it) is the Sleeve Gastrectomy. (My bmi right now is at 50 (with my weight at 305) and the other options felt risky)
I have a few questions though, for anyone who has had it, if they’re willing to answer:
1) how long was the whole process? (Including pre-op, and recovery)
- i’m a student, so i need to be able to life 10 pounds (backpacks, am i right?) and go to school, and unfortunately summer and Christmas break are the only times I could potentially go through with it (surgery + recovery, i can do pre-op stuff when in school)
2) if you have/had binge-eating disorder/problems with binge eating, how are you doing with it now?
3) did your insurance help cover it (just a yes or no) (also i’m american if that helps)?
4) did you experience any complications?
5) my doctor recommended it for me, but did not refer me to a doctor. Did you receive a referral, or find a doctor/surgeon yourself?
6) do you see a nutritionist?
7) how long has it been since your surgery, and how do you feel now? 8) would you recommend it?
9) if you have PCOS, did it help and did it keep the weight off? (After lifestyle changes of course!)
If you could answer even just one of the questions i would reaaallyyy appreciate it!!
i ran/walked today for the first time in probably a year and boy are my legs tired!

Hi everyone! I don’t know how to bring this up without looking pushy or needy or whatever, but I have a Wordpress blog (skywardsara is my username)
https://skywardsara.wordpress.com/
and on it I’m going to post like stories about myself where I talk about things like mental illness, school, life, stuff in general. I just posted a blog about depression, and I have an intro post about myself as well!!!
I’m using the blog as a sort of therapy tool. For far too long I’ve been ashamed of myself and of talking about myself so I’m using this to a) get better at doing it and b) because I like it and it makes me feel better! So if you want, give it a read! I believe you can comment on it too without having an account! Thanks!!
(Also I will likely be posting the links to the individual blogs every time I write one so if anyone wants to read them they can!)
i've had a really bad case of stomach flu the past few days and my mental illnesses are really acting up but i'm here and i'm trying to get back at it.
