Inspired by this discussion by comtessedebussy, sarahsmodernlife, and trai-all – cause I completely agree with them, but am also wary of the media's tendency to desexualize queer men. So here's one take on how it could be handled in a way that's sexually suggestive, but not explicit.
Sam knocked, but didn't wait for a response before barging into the room. He was met by two pairs of bleary eyes looking up at him from the the bed. Well then, that was unexpected, but there wasn't time for that right now.
"Urgent case," Sam explained. "Can't wait 'til morning, sorry." Dean moved to prop himself up on one elbow. Sam stood in the doorway, expectantly. Cas sat part-way up, the blanket slipping down a little from his bare shoulders. He stretched, then turned away and reached down to pick his shirt up off the floor on the far side of the bed. Dean just blinked at Sam and rubbed his eyes.
It was only then that Sam noticed the boxers amidst the pile of discarded clothing on Dean's side of the bed, and realized that Dean was waiting to have a little privacy before getting up. "I'll... uh... go warm up the car," Sam said, backing out and closing the door.

It was late by the time they got back, but the trip had been successful. People saved, things hunted. Dean took a deep breath and approached his brother.
"So, uh..." he started, eyes darting over to Cas who was busy carrying extra supplies back in from the car.
"Hey," said Sam, cutting him off and giving a gentle smile. "I'm happy for you."
Dean stood with his mouth still open from the earlier attempt to speak. "Oh," he said a moment later. "Good." He let out a breath. Sam could see the tension leaving his body, and a bit of his old, cocky grin appeared. "Good talk," he said, clapping Sam on the shoulder. He paused and then added, "thanks," and went to help Cas with the bags.
Whoa whoa whoa. I follow you and didn't realize you wrote Cas, you had a baby and now that I have an identity...I'm setting up a small shrine to you. I hope that's not weird but I LOVE YOUR FIC <3
Ohhhh a shrine. This is thrilling! If I feel myself getting conjured, I’ll know it’s you working magic at my shrine. ;) I’m writing a new chapter right now with a surprise appearance by a certain other angel. Stay tuned.
I'm so glad I found your blog :) I've vaguely enjoyed Peter Capaldi's work for a while, definitely knew of his name solidly since In the Loop which I thought was hands down amazing, and now he's the Doctor!? What! I'm so excited :) But finding a blog and, most importantly blogger (!) that's already a well established well of knowledge and fun is always awesome, because I am a Capaldi Novice. So I know who to come to with questions :) YAY!
sarahsmodernlife said: american here finally asking what is sixth form (is it the last year in your guy’s schooling? or last mandatory year?) and is the induction course like an orientation? Also America for vacation? yay!
ahh sixth form is year 12 and 13 for education!! which is for 16-18 years old so yeah basically the last two years of fulltime education omg
i'm going into year 12 right now since i just finished my GCSEs, and then in sixth form you either do A-levels or some other sort of equivalent (like i want to do the international baccalaureate!!)
not everyone HAS to go into sixth form, but peeps in england have to stay in education until they're 18 now unu some people decide to go to colleges or do apprenticeships instead though
and yeah the induction course is just like an orientation omg!!
yup yup yup, leaving england next thursday and staying in america with a family friend for 3 weeks owo pretty cool stuff

Joyce is Irish actually, but amazing! ps start with dubliners (short story collection) as his novels are crazy weird/hard. Araby is my favorite short because it makes me feel like someone took back to the nostalgia of being a little awkward kid, and then the kid is gonna go get a gift for his girl, well I won't spoil it but it's the story that convinced me to be an English major/that literature is THE media that can best capture emotions. I am so jealous of Joyce's talent it's insane.
I think I read a few of his stories in high school to help create practice questions for my school’s academic quiz team, but I hardly remember them. The weird thing about me though is that I try to read a variety of authors each summer, so now that I know that Joyce is slated for fall, I probably won’t feel as compelled to read him now so I can read other authors. But perhaps I will read him. My recreational reading chooses itself very organically; I rarely know what I’m going to read next until I just pick up a book and read it :)
