I genuinely think some of the best character writing on TV right now is on this show and I don’t care who eyebrow raises me for it.
Right? The characters are so great and the show is just a joy to watch.
Are there any character journeys you like in particular? Or are you interested in most of them?

Oh, absolutely. It shows up in III literally just to remind us it’s there.
I'm so nervous. Since Ronan got it out of his dream where it hurt Adam, I'm worried that it's somehow going to harm Adam in real life. Because "if it works in the dream, it works in real life" and it was harmful to Adam in the dream but not to Ronan (and maybe not to anybody else).
Oh, and Calla told Ronan to destroy it in TDT and his attempts haven't worked, so that's not totally ominous or anything.

It's the "look at you" line that really gets to me. Ronan is looking at Adam and can see what effects the plan and the dream!Ronan are having on him.
Also, Ronan is generally regretting that he let Adam stay when he dreamt up the stuff. At one point, he says, "I didn't say it was your fault [...] I said get the hell away from me," which shows that he wants Adam to leave because of something Ronan did, not Adam. And it could indicate that not only does he want some space to compose himself, but also that he wants Adam away from the danger that is Ronan Lynch.

Ah, sorry, now I get you. Very interesting. I still kind of read it my way, even while watching the scene. I associate the awe with the hand not the line, which I guess I associate with the concept of being worthy, which is to me what I think Spike always wanted when he chased love. So I get the same sense of the arc but not tied to him rejecting love. But then, I DID see Angel + know the comic, which colors things for me. It's certainly a valid read though and I do see where you're coming from.
Yeah, I was sad but extremely pleased with their ending when I initially watched it, and I remember being surprised by the negative reading once I entered fandom. But I am able to cut the Buffyverse off at “Chosen” (likewise, AtS ends for me somewhere before they started screwing over Cordelia), so I’m always missing a piece of the puzzle in discussions.
Also, I meant to mention, despite disliking Shiver, I’ve started reading TRC since you’ve been raving about it for a long, long time. I finished The Raven Boys the other day and loved it, which seems like a positive sign for the next one. I don’t really have an opinion on Ronan or Adam—I’m guessing that’ll change with TDT? So far Blue’s probably my favourite, and Gansey’s rich person guilt and accidental condescension amuses me the most.
