6. On ‘burnbookisms’/anti-blogs.
I feel like burnbookisms and their ilk are petty, terrible things, yet inevitable. There will always be those who thrive on bringing other people down for reasons that I’ll never understand, but generally they are the minority and I can only hope that for every one of those such blogs there are ten run by people who are the exact opposite.
As in sending hate? I think this might be a product of my age and experience, but I think it’s a pointless, futile thing. A blog is never made to cater to one individual person and no one should expect that. Also, there’s that lovely ‘Unfollow’ feature so you don’t have to see people, or blacklisting one desires to go so far. Putting hate out there, to me, is more of a person getting butthurt about not having attention paid to them and less about actually disliking a blog. A fifteen-minutes-of-fame gimmick. Can some people raise legitimate points? Certainly, but there are better ways to bring them up that to send hate.
So this should come as no surprise, but I am a huge backer of positivity. Encouragement helps people thrive, and Gods do I know that it can really make a difference sometimes. And when I see people getting random notes of kindness and such, it really makes me smile.
Okay so I make a lot of OOC posts… I acknowledge this fact. But I feel that when it comes to others, it’s all about the creator’s preference, not mine. Want to keep everyone updated with your life? Okie doke. Want to not let people know anything and be strictly in character? Alrighty then. And if it bothers someone, like I said before, there’s a lovely blacklist feature for blocking tags.
Personally, I’m cool with them unless they’re hate-filled.
