“You’re kidding” norm says, not really believing what he just heard.
“I am not, believe me norm, I almost didn't believe it at first either” Jake says.
“No, I have to hear it myself. Replay it” norm says, max nods, replaying a message they were sent just an hour ago.
It was an audio, a bit scuffled but loud and clear was the voice of a woman.
“Hello? This is Alma Cortez. I am a researcher and Co director of TAP. An education branch of the RDA. I don't have a lot of time but I am seeking help from the RDA rebels, more specifically Jake sully, aka Toruk Makto, and Grace Agustine. There are na’vi children here being held against their will. They need help and I alone cannot do it. I need-God damn it! Grace if you are hearing this, please! I need your help! They are not all dead! I repeat! The Sarentu children are alive!”
Hellooo, could i get a fic about Teylan and Solek, like in a platonic way? Solek may get annoyed by Teylan on the daily and not like his human stuff, but deep down has a soft spot for him, he knows he was the most manipulated by the Sky people at TAP that made him like he is now. So even tho he always complains about him, Teylan is like a little brother to him and will protect no matter what. So then one day finds out the way that if you mess with Teylan you got the wrath of Solek after you.
Ooooooooooooooh~!!! BROMANCE!!! That is all I can see!!! Enjoy darling!!

Little fangs, sharp glare
Trusting humans is one thing so’lek took forever to gain. After everything he has lost, it's odd to be friends with some. He lost his clan, his family, and those close to him. It is not easy to get over it, with sadness comes anger, and with anger comes hate. So’lek deeply hates humans, not all, but those who fall under the RDA name.
He also understands the pain of losing everything, losing all that you have ever known. So when he heard of what was once a long dead clan, its members returning, some hope was restored in his heart.
It was too late for so’lek, but maybe there is still a chance for the remaining sarentu.
Speaking of sarentu, the 4 were very interesting. Too human for his liking, if so’lek didn't know anymore better, he would have been fooled into thinking they were dreamwalkers. Of course he shouldn't blame them, they were taken very young, raised in metal walls, not a touch of nature by humans. When they were freed, three of them wanted to reconnect to their roots. How to be a real na’vi.
There is one, however, who enjoys being human.
Teylan, the youngest of the sarentu, was……different.
Spoke, walked, behaved, and thought just like a human.
Granted, he is the youngest and was far more easy to manipulate and be molded to the humans liking. Yet now that he is free, he fears literally everything. Prefers to stay inside the resistance building, chooses to play with old and new technology. Chatting with humans, and his sarentu friends.
But with other na’vi? Not a chance.
Even Teylan fears so’lek.
So’lek wonders how will teylan continue to live if he hasn't even truly thrived?
“No thank you, I am fine where I am,” teylan kindly rejects.
With an annoyed sigh, so’lek looked at him straight in the eyes, something that makes teylan very nervous about.
“Teylan, computers and radio technology isn't going to help you out there” so’lek reminds the youngest sarentu. His eyes looking down at him, not in an interior way, but more rather of trying to sway teylan.
“A-as if I want to go out there, it's scary a-and there is a lot of danger. I'm fine, besides, I am contributing b-by helping with the tech. Pretty outdated some of this stuff is” teylan tries to make excuses.
Fighting never was something teylan wanted to do. Even back in TAP, if there was anything teylan rebelled in, it be wielding weapons and/or fighting. Violence is like a virus he wishes to stay away from.
“P-please sir, I don't want to touch a gun. Never will”
Hearing this, so’lek was reminded of the three laws of Eywa, one of them was to never touch the metals. Was too late for him, but maybe, just maybe, it is not too late for teylan. The na’vi that is more out of Eywa’s reach.
For weeks so’lek observed teylan, how he is adjusting to things. If there is one word to describe teylan, it is weak. In more ways than just physical. His sarentu friends grow stronger, wiser, and open to the massive world while teylan remains reserved, shy, and hesitant. Traits of someone weak. Even more since Teylan is capable of being mentally vulnerable.
Perhaps there is some method so’lek can use to help teylan get stronger. Brute force and harsh words worked with the others.
Being “soft” isn't something so’lek can get used to.
So’lek is such a scary na’vi in teylan’s eyes. Deep voice, tall, muscular, and very very hateful towards humans. So’lek was teylan’s first exposure to native na’vi. A real na’vi. And his first impressions were not so great. Yes, so’lek was very dangerous in his own right but he wasn't wild or mindless like how Mercer told him.
So’lek is very clever, thinks through his plans and comes up with excellent war strategies.
Everything Mercer said, and even alma to an extent, were wrong.
Yes there is danger everywhere, and if teylan had it his way, he would make a pillow fort and play with old gadgets. Yet so’lek persists for him to train how to wield weapons and fight.
Teylans knows how to wield a weapon he just chooses not to.
“Damn, useless earpiece” so’lek grunts in annoyance. His ear piece that helps him to communicate with others isn't functioning well. It is not like he can get another one, muchless a newer earpiece. He can only work with what he has.
Taking it off, so’lek examines it, for something so small, its so complex to repair it. He could ask one of the humans to fix it but they are already busy as it is. To take their time away for something small seems inconvenient for anyone.
“I c-can fix it…”
Turning around, he see’s Teylan standing a bit distance from him. Extending his arm out, so’lek hands the ar piece to the sarentu.
Teylan was quick to work in, “it's not useless” he mutters.
So’lek tilts his head, observing teylan’s hands, his fingers be delicate to the tiny piece, using tiny tools to examine it.
“It's old” so’lek says, seeing a small red wire being taken out.
“Yes, but so is everything here. It's not so easy to get new equipment. So the best we can do is maintain it in good condition. We have the parts, we can make it last longer” teylan speaks while replacing the red wire with a yellow wire and putting the tiny pieces back together.
Handing the earpiece back to so’lek, he adds “If there is a piece for it, we can mend it back together again”
With that, teylan smiles and walks away to do other things.
So’lek puts on the earpiece and stays a bit to let his words linger in his mind.
Perhaps teylan is correct.
Teylan jumped from being startled by a large bag landing beside him.
“Easy! Are you trying to scare me?” he asks the person behind the little stunt, which was none other than so’lek.
He grins a bit, “look into those items, see if anything is useful” with that he leaves.
Curious, Teylan opens the bag and gasps in surprise.
It was full of new and fresh spare parts and technology!
Teylan knew so’lek goes on raids to destroy any RDA base but he never guessed so’lek would also be stealing any possible resources that could be useful. And useful they were.
So Teylan was quick to work with these new toys.
“Better security cameras, scanners, newer radars, updated databases. Teylan you thought of everything, well done” anqa praises. This causes teylan to blush a bit. Making his tail sway side to side. It makes him feel good, to be useful. To contribute in the best way he can.
Teylan was about to make his way somewhere else when nor pulled him aside.
“Teylan! Come with me, I finally mastered archery! Come, I can show you” nor said rather excitedly, ready to drag him outside. But teylan pulled away, quickly feeling uncomfortable.
“No thanks nor, Im fine here, besides there is still much to do” he tries to excuse.
Nor clicks his tongue, shaking his head.
“Teylan, you have to learn how to fight. I get it, no guns, and that is fine. Not every weapon is some form of a gun, like a bow and arrows, or spears. How will you survive out there? What if you are alone and can't defend yourself? Don't be a baby teylan, even so’lek is disappointed”
That last part hurt teylan.
“Come on, I can even teach you how to hunt” nor offers.
“No, that is worse, I don't want to hurt animals” teylan argues softly. Unable to raise his voice against his dearest friend.
“Then how will you eat? Eating on powdered foods and fruit? This is for you own good. I don't want you to be left behind in necessary skills” nor goes on.
But before it could go further, another stepped into the conversation.
“Nor, ri’nela is calling for you, saying it's urgent” so’lek speaks, letting his heavy gaze glare down at him.
Nor nods, and leaves.
So’lek turns around to see teylan almost ready to cry.
“Am I a disappointment?”
Together they stand outside of the base, admiring the natural beauty surrounding them. Neither being the first to speak for the first few minutes.
“You are not a disappointment, Teylan” so’lek was the first to speak. Not really looking at the sarentu, just looking beyond the land.
“If anything, you surprise me”
Teylan looked over at so’lek, feeling confused by that, “how so?”
“You are more quiet, shy and a mess of nerves but you are strong in your own right. You surprise me by how quick you work, clearly your strong suits is that of repairing things”
Teylan looks down, playing with his tools that hang from his belt.
“I just don't want to be useless….I hate being seen as extra baggage that everyone has to take care off….even to my friends” teylan confesses.
Sighing, he goes on, so’lek hearing his words.
“I don't like weapons. I don't like guns. I know you know that, nor knows that, everyone does. But I also don't want to hold any other dangerous items. I just hate…violence. I want things to be peaceful, I want all humans to be nice, not just to each other but to this world. Stupid thinking, I know. I don't even see myself as hurting anyone. Doesn't matter if it is human or na’vi, hurting people is wrong…”
A few minutes of silence passed before So'lek spoke again.
“Do you know the laws of Eywa?” he asks, looking over at the youngest sarentu.
“Laws of Eywa, no, never. I didnt even know there is laws” teylan answers honestly.
Chuckling a bit, so’lek shakes hsi head. Should have known the RDA keeps such information away from him.
“Well, there are. Three, they are: You shall not set stone upon stone. Neither shall you turn the turning wheel. Nor use the metals of the ground” so’lek says while using his fingers to point out each law.
“Do you know what they mean?” he asks.
“No, they seem confusing” teylan answers.
“They mean you shall not use metal or stone materials. Something humans use, like making this base. As well as is it forbidden to dig up the natural metals from the ground”
Teylan looks down at the ground, remembering the lessons alma taught him many years ago.
“They sound simple…but I bet it is hard”
So’lek nods, “for humans yes, but you oddly follow the three laws without even knowing. Which it is a good thing”
He places his hand on teylan’s hat, taking it off.
“Hey, give it back” teylan tries to reach for his hat, but so’lek chuckles, keeping it away from his reach.
“Easy, I won't take it away”
Teylan huffs but lets it slide.
“You know teylan, despite what nor tells you, you are strong in your own way. Yes, you may not know how to fight but you know how to make this place have a better chance in stance. You are clever and very smart, quick thinking in how to fix or improve things” so’lek praises.
Teylan never knew he would hear such words from the mighty warrior.
So’lek places the hat back on teylan’s head, “I will be strong for you young one so don't listen to what your friend tells you”
The doors open to show the two men walking back inside the base,
Nor sees teylan and tries to persist again.
“Teylan, there you are! I was thinking, instead of archery why not using a spear? They are incredibly sharp and-”
“Actually nor, I don't want to hear any more about weapons in general. I don't like it, so please stop telling me what to do when I an not comfortable with it” teylan says firmly in his voice, looking hard at nor.
Nor was ready to scoff when he saw so’lek behind teylan.
His glare piercing and deadly.
“Alright teylan, I won't do it again” nor confirms, quickly walking away.
Teylan sighs and smiles widely, turning around to see so’lek give a soft expression.
“It worked! He stopped!” teylan grins happily.
“See? Next time if he or anyone persists, just show your fangs at them, they will know better than to push you” so’lek says as he ruffle’s the young one’s hair.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaand that is all for this one! Hope you all like it! Until next time! see ya!
Hiii friend!! Could i get a Norm adopts the Sarentu ask kids and also Spider? In this universe the timeline is a bit different, right after the final battle of A1 the Sarentu are still kids and after Ahari’s death, Alma manages to help them escape and send them far away ( aka to where the omatikaya live) so Mercer can’t get to them. And there Norm adopts them after he had already adopted Spider. And then siblings shenanigans ensue.
OOOOOOOOOOOH~!!! YES YES YES~!! TIME FOR NORM TO SHINE ON THIS ONE! HOPE YOU ENJOY~!
P.S: The sarentu player is named paw in this story , also paw and telisi are girls. Yefti is mute and a boy!
-------------
Full house
Norm was just norm. A skinny, nerdy guy with a huge fascination with anything foreign and new. He was just as normal as his name. Norm. He is not much of a warrior like his best friend, or a snappy, demanding director like his old friend and mentor Grace. Yes he is strong when needed to be, not afraid to be in the front lines when it is called.
He is not a lot of things. That much is certain. What norm is, is a nature loving, gentle soul, loyal, respectful, kinda, and above all, loving.
What norm is not, or more over, what he never thought he would ever be, is a parent.
Not a parent to one child, he never expected he would be a parent to 9 children.
One human, and 8 na’vi children.
Norm can say he has been into battles and raids enough times to see some patterns, alternatives, can even predict how it will end. Call it cheesy but he is the man of loyalty and would do anything to protect those he cares about.
Among the people he has come to care about more than his own life, was his newly adopted son that enjoy being called “spider”
Bright, crazy, and will try different ways to kill himself simply by being curious of the world he was born in. A walking happy, stress inducing little being spider is for Norm. Full of surprises, and norm enjoys that.
The biggest surprise was him being born.
And norm is always grateful for that, always thanking Eywa everyday. Yup, parenthood sure is something not many today plan for.
“Well, each of us can watch over him, like that old saying goes, ‘it takes a village to raise a child’” Max suggests. A group of the science guys have found baby spiders in the old dormitories for the female soldiers. Only a few months old, skinny little guy.
It wasn't long before they did a DNA scan of who he belonged to. The results were both scary yet unsurprising. It was after that many did not wish to get involved with the baby.
“I will do it” , the norm says, more like announcing it.
Picking up spider, wrapping him up in his little blankie, he says it again, “I will be his parent”
“Does this count as a reverse kidnapping?” Max asks.
It was night, using nature to cover the scorpion plane, waiting for an important package. Jake, Norm, Trudy, Max and Grace were all waiting patiently for Alma to come to them with the sarentu children that were being held within the human facility.
“I see it as a rescue mission” Trudy says, her eyes not being away from her port.
“It is a rescue mission” Grace affirms, her eyes scanning through the foliage for any movement. Being silent and listening carefully for any sounds of footsteps. Her concentration was a bit out of character for her. None have seen her this serious before.
“It will be a huge cultural shock to these poor kids” max says, filling out the silence of the soundless night.
“Cultural? More of a world shock, metal walls and holograms is all they ever knew” Jake replies. All of them have heard the tragic news of a fallen na’vi clan, how there were no survivors and even more tragic there was no way to help them. Grace was more hit on a personal level, felt more helpless, as feeling that it was somehow her fault when really it wasn't.
“They will struggle, a lot of struggling, getting back to their roots and relearn everything. It's very sad " Norm comments. His thoughts drift to spider, thinking what it would have been like for his son. To be brainwashed and never been allowed to do things that he was born to do. A hell no child should go through.
“I know I am thinking ahead but…..who will take in these kids?” Trudy asks suddenly.
“Hi! Im spider! And I am your big brother!” little spider proudly points to himself as he talks to the newly arrived na’vi children. He was so excited to meet them the moment norm told him who was coming. New friends and new siblings!
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Jake asks, he and his friends huddle on the farthest corner of the old hells gate. Everyone watching the sarentu children carefully.
“They seem very comfortable with spider” Max points out.
“Its because he is human, didn't you see their faces? Seeing native na’vi? They looked horrified, "Grace whispers.
“STAY AWAY!! LEAVE US ALONE!!”
“ENGLISH!! WE DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU!!”
“THEY ARE GOING TO KILL US!!”
8 sarentu children huddled together, tears flowing down from their eyes, little bodies trembling in fear. Circling the younger ones, as they all scream and cry in utter terror. Surrounding them was what was supposed to be a welcoming celebration to these unfortunate children. What was supposed to be loving, cheerful, and harmouns, the children only feared things that they don't understand.
And what they dont understand is the native na’vi are right in front of them, speaking in a language they dont understand.
“And what is your name…?” Norm asks softly to the sniffling children, after what felt like forever with a touch of a miracle, the sarentu children have calmed down. A great thanks to Norm. Using his already experience with spider, he flawlessly managed to gather the 8 children and have them stop crying.
“M-my name is nor…” the little boy stutters out as he wipes away his tears. Holding hands with little teylan and ri’nela.
“That is a wonderful name, and you” norm compliments as he turns to one of the little girls. Looking down shyly as she plays with her hands, “my name is paw….”
“Im t-telisi….” another little girl says, being slightly more confident. Holding her hand was one of the older children. He was trying to look tough, brave and tall. Norm knew he too was scared inside but rather not show it.
“This is Yuayt….and-”
“ACHOO!!”
Telisi was cut off from a sneeze, coming from another little girl.
“And she is okni, she gets sick easily,” Telisi informs.
Okni was rubbing her nose when another little boy, ripping a piece of his shirt to wipe her nose.
“And that is yefti….”
Norm took a good look at all of the sarentu children. He was about the make the more bizarre choice ever in his life. Perhaps more bizarre than all of the bizarre ideas. He was gonna make all of these sarentu children into Spellman children.
“Come on slow pokes!!”
“Yeah! I'm smaller yet faster than any of you!!”
“Telisi! Spider! Be Careful!”
9 little spellman children were exploring the vast forest that was now their forever home. There is always an adventure to explore, little mysteries to solve and skills to hone.
Spider and Telisi make way for their other siblings as they fearlessly go ahead. Not far behind was nor and ri’nela with teylan between them. Nor trying his best to keep while ri’nela takes her sweet time. Behind them yuayt giving okni a piggyback right while paw was holding okni’s hand and yefti being comfortably silent beside them.
“Feeling any better okni?” paw asks, giving her sister a gentle squeeze on her hand. Okni nods, giving a reassuring smile.
“That medicine better work, or else we will use the medicine that humans use” yuayt says.
Paw frowns a bit, “don't be like that, the tsahik is a master of healing. It is her life's job, why do you still doubt her skills?” she asks her brother. Yefti also gives a disapproving look to his brother.
“It's been a year already and Okni is still sick. In my eyes, there hasn't been any changes” yuayt replies.
“She stopped having accidents at night. Not puking as much and can now sleep through the night without any interruptions. I see that as major progress” yefti signs. Trying to points out the positive outcomes from mo’ats medicines.
“He is right, and okni can eat more now!” paw adds.
“Not enough” yuayt scoffs.
“Dont be meanie” okni whispers as she gently pokes her brother's cheek.
Yuayt stopped complaining after that.
“Spider! Telisi! Slow down! Ma’eywa!” nor shouts, giving up on telling his siblings to not go that far ahead.
Ri’nela giggles as she helps Teylan go over a big tree root.
“It is futile brother, they are just too energetic” she says. Nor sighs, she is right. Out of everyone, his two older siblings are such a chaotic duo. They were slowing down for the other trio to catch up.
Teylan looks over to see yefti and smiles, “YEEYEE!!” he shouts excitedly.
Yefti smiles, seeing his baby brother and runs over to him. Teylan reaches out his little arms, wanting to be picked up, to which yefti happily complies.
“You spoil him brother” nor says.
Yefti merely shrugs, “it makes him happy. Also he wants to copy okni” he signs.
“Speaking of, I can carry okni if you are getting tired yuayt” ri’nela offers as her brother gets closer.
Yuayt shakes his head, “im fine, okni is lighter than that little fatty”
Okni hit him in the back of the head, “done be a meanie, teylan isnt fat, just squishy” she gently scolds.
“Eerr….teylan’s appetite is growing…” paw says.
“Its fine, with all the running and climbing, he won't be squishy forever” ri’nela says as she gives teylan a playful pinch on his chubby cheeks.
“He won't if yefti keeps carrying him like a baby” nor comments.
“Teylan is a baby” yefti signs.
“I'm gonna beat you spider man!!” telisi teases.
“NEVER!!! They don't call me monkey boy for nothing!!” spider shouts.
Both laugh and cheer to their hearts content as they run through the vast forest, not caring to stop. Letting the wind hit their faces, overcoming any obstacle and quick thinking.
Climbing to the floating mountains do they see their goal.
Spider summoned all his strength and went even faster, going past telisi and makes the leap of faith.
“SPIDER!!!” his sister screams, stopping to witness him jump from the edge of the cliff and flying towards the nearest landing.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!”
Spider braced for impact, his side landing first on the rocky ground. Grunting in pain, and a bit dizzy, he shakly gets up. Dusting off the dirt and rubble, he laughs.
“HA!!! I WIN!!” he cheers.
Telisi shakes her head, huffing loudly.
“Dad is going to skin you…”
“OOOOOOOWW!! OWOWOWOWOW!!!” the spider squeaks in pain.
Ri’nela sighs, trying to gently tend to his bruising and scratches.
“You are lucky dad is busy with Jake, he will be very angry when he finds out what you did” she scolds her big brother.
Spider chuckles a bit, “I couldn't let telisi beat me, my record would be broken”
“I like competition brother, but never when it comes to risking our lives” telisi shouts across from the room they are in.
Okni hears spider in pain, and quietly goes over to him, silently offering some of her medicine. Spider gently denies.
“I'm ok sis. Don't waste your medicine, you need it more than I do”
Okni slight frowns. Offering it again.
“Spider is right. It is not easy for the tsahik to make that medicine, okni. Only you can use it” ri’nela says as she adds the last bandaged on spider’s side.
“Kiri can make some. We can ask her” okni finally speaks, clutching her herb pouch.
“Kiri is too busy looking at pretty flowers to make medicine” yuayt scoffs. He and teylan were messing with some old technology equipment. More like yuayt trying to make sure no small piece gets into teylan’s mouth.
“Can anything positive come out of your snarky mouth?” nor asks a bit sarcastically. Earning a glare from yuayt, “When you stop bitching like a-”
“Ok that's enough you two” spider interrupts what could be another round of word fighting.
Yuayt rolls his eyes, lifting teylan from the table, handing him over to yefti who gladly accepts. Grabbing his knife and gun, he makes his way to the exit. The other kids following his movement.
“And where are you going?” telisi asks.
“Somewhere” yuayt replies and leaves.
Almost everyone shakes their head.
“I will get the fire started, no doubt he is coming back with some good yerik” ri’nela informs. Telisi and Paw quickly helped her.
Norm walks into his home after saying his nightly farewells to Jake and his family. It was a long day with so many things to do, but happy he will come home to his kids. Chuckling to himself, norm cant help but smile widely. It has been a year since the kids were rescued from the hellish TAP facility and already have grown so much.
A lot has happened, overcoming trauma is not an easy thing. The Sarentu children were easily scared when starting to live here. Scared about everything, even seeing other na’vi. Norm still couldnt believe a lot has progressed over one year. Though not all is perfect and not every wound is healed.
There is still a lot left to do for these kids, his kids.
And speaking of his kids, norm opens the door and-
“TOO MUCH SALT IS BAD!!”
“NO! IT MAKES IT TASTY!!”
“WHERE DID YOU EVEN GET THAT?!”
“FROM YOUR ASS! WHERE ELSE IDIOT! THE KITCHEN!”
Yup, another round of spellman chaos.
“HEY!”
All the spellman children stopped what they were doing and stared at norm.
“DAD!!” they all cheered. Forgetting about their argument, everyone ran towards their father. Jumping on him, hugging him, shouting so many things at the same time.
“Easy! One at a time!” He tries to settle down the kids.
“Dad! Nor added too much salt into the stew!”
“So what?!”
“Daaaaaaaaaaad!! Yuayt called nor a bitch again!”
“Dad dad dad!!! Spider did a dumb move today!!”
“Why are you snitching on me!? Dad I know who telisi’s crush is”
“DON'T YOU DARE!!”
“OK OK!! QUIET DOWN!!” norm shouts.
Everyone dispersed, giving norm room to get up and observe what is going on. From the smell and obvious pot cooking, it smelled like yerik meat stew. Knowing instantly, norm turns to yauyt.
“Did you hunt today?” he asks.
Yuayt shrugs, “why ask if you already know the answer”
Yefti slapped his arm, “really?” he signs.
Paw tugged on norms shirt, eagerly wanting to say something.
“Yes paw?” norm turns to her.
“Can we watch a movie after eating?” she asks, trying to look cute to convince him. Ruffling her hair, norm smiles, “lets eat first then we shall se
“Dad,” Telisi calls. Now turning to her, norm lets her continue.
“Spider jumped off a cliff and almost died” she tattles.
“SPIDER WHAT?!”
“SNITCHES GET STITCHES!!” spider warns.
“WHO IS WEARING THE STITCHES RIGHT NOW?!”
“Finally…..” norm can breathe in relaxation. After a hearty meal the food coma hit everyone.
Norm tucks little teylan between paw and yefti. Beside paw was Okni, who was also beside yuat. On the other side of yefti was nor and ri’nela. Spider and Telisi were sleeping over their other sleeping siblings. As if to protect them even as they slumber through the night.
Norm quietly observes the children. Everyday he gives his best, gives his thanks as he couldnt believe his luck. 9 beautiful children. Chaotic and rowdy but good kids.
Many wonder how norm does it. Every time he is asked, “how do you do it?” or “have you lost your mind yet?”
Many times was norm close to losing his mind, but knows better. Constantly reminding himself that his children could have been in worse situations. That they wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the call for help.
Jake at times would say “got a full house there norm”
Yeah, he was right. A single man trying to raise 9 kids does insane, lunatic, but norm enjoys all of it. And there is nothing in this world or the next would norm trade it for anything. His kids are not just sarentu or human kids, no, they are spellman children and norm be damned if others say anything else.
Aaaaaaaand that is it for this one! This fic took me a good while because I was trying to get every scrap of information about the other sarentu children. See what personalities I can create.
Until the other sarentu children are properly shown in the frontiers, this is what I cam up with. So I hope you guys enjoyed it! Until next time! See ya!
Hii! Could I get a Teylan x human reader pls? Like she kind of is like Spider, born in pandora, but at the resistance, and she is now Teylan age and they met when the Sarentu arrived at HQ. They start to get close and fall in love, but after all that happens in the game they separate because Teylan has to figure himself out as a navi with no human influence. She tells him that is okay and maybe one day they will see each other again. After a couple of years they reunite, and realize that they still feel the same. And try to be a couple, but with a navi lifestyle ( as much as she can as a human).
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!! MY FIRST TEYLAN FIC!! okie! I know just how to make this go! Enjoy~!!
P.S: cover made by meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~!!!

Teylan really did not know what to do or say. There are so many new faces! His first few days with the resistance he clung to his fellow sarentu siblings or with Alma. He does his best to not be with so’lek so much. That na’vi is scary, and what a deep voice! Teylan for sure thinks that na’vi doesn't sleep. Always awake and aware.
It was overwhelming really, from waking up after a long time, having to escape what was once their home, and into the world where he was told it was dangerous. So much in just a short time. Teylan tries to keep up, he does, but fear of everything is what pulls him back. Alma guides his like she always did, ri’nela does her best to soothe his worries when he touches anything from the outside. Nor would call him a scardy baby, but he is not!
Everyday it was noisy, but there is one thing that helps teylan calm down. More like someone, someone who brings teylan peace into his life.
“You are na’vi, why are you so attached to metal things?” So’lek asks Teylan, who can never understand the strange young sarentu’s obsession with human stuff. Teylan was holding a radio and a hologram tablet. His eyes darted left and right, trying to think of an answer. How can he when so’lek is glaring down at him?
“We grew with human customs, he is the youngest, it is the only thing he knows” ri’nela came to his aid. Bless her kind heart. So’lek shakes his head in a disapproving manner but doesnt say much else.
For the rest of the day, so’lek silently observed teylan, being more human than na’vi. When an idea hit him.
“Alma, when does she return?”
“Hello, my name is Hayalovay, or hayalo for short. It is such a great honor to meet you all”
A young, small human stood before the sarentu children. She was not like the other humans in the resistance base. While other humans were dressed in the human clothing, pants, tank tops, jackets. Hayalovay was dressed as if she were na’vi. Loin cloth, beaded top, feathers and beads decorating her hair, colorful paint in different areas of her body. A beautiful flower tucked behind her ear, giving her a more na'vi look. She looked oddly beautiful.
Her eyes search over and met with teylan’s bright eyes. A blush was quick to appear on his cheeks.
“You must be teylan. The other’s told me a lot about you. Oh! Your hat looks very nice, have you tried wearing it in reverse? Many like to” Hayalo goes over to him with her question. Oddly enough, despite her ramblings, she wasn't loud. Not like the other humans. Teylan liked that. Liked that she was a different set of noise, a nice, calming noise that he might come to enjoy.
“It's poisonous!”
“Its a flower”
“It will kill me!”
“It is just a flower teylan”
“W-what if-”
“Oh for the love of eywa-”
Hayalo grabbed teylan’s larger hand and brought forward to make contact with a purple flower with moving tendrils at the center. Teylan’s fingers making contact, making him whimper in fear.
“See? Its not killing you” hayalo teases.
“W-well how was I supposed to know?” he refutes.
The girl just smiles, “you did. I told you but you refuse to listen”.
The tendrils got a good grip on teylan’s fingers, his fear growing worse “it--its going to eat my fingers!!” he panics while trying to pull away at the flower. Hayalo tries to ease him but teylan yanks back so hard, the flower breaks off from its stem, landing on the ground.
Hayalo sighs and bends down to gently pick up the massive flower.
“N-not my fault! It's was going to hurt me!” teylan defends himself. Reminding himself of all those fearful lessons back in TAP. How every plant was dangerous in some form or another. “They were right…!” he mutters
Hayalo lets the still moving tendrils of the flower grab her smaller fingers, enjoying the sensation.
Teylan observes her, scared that the flower might hurt her, but after a minute, the tendrils willingly let go of Hayalo's fingers. Smiling, Hayalo raised her hand and wiggled her fingers.
“See? It didn't hurt me. It is completely harmless teylan, not everything in pandora is out to get you” the human explains.
Teylan blushes a bit in shame, seems it's going to take a while to get used to.
“You are not na’vi, yet you behave and try to look like a na’vi. Why? You are human” Teylan asks out of nowhere. He was very curious since he met her. Hayalo really is a strange human out of all that he has known.
“I was born here. This is my home, therefore that makes me a pandorian. I always admired na'vi. How beautiful and full of life they all are. Each clan is different, yet they all hold the same morals and rules. Living side by side with them, I grew up thinking I was a na’vi. Dressing the same, painting my body, weaving my songchord, hunting, it is all incredible…'' Hayalo answers honestly.
Both look beyond the mountains and the grasslands as the sun goes down.
Hayalo reaches to hold teylan’s hand, his eyes looking down at her face.
“You are lucky to be na’vi teylan. Even Miss Cortez is lucky since she has an avatar. I just have this body. You can breathe the air, make connections with the animals, you can do so many things” she goes on to say.
But teylan looks down observing his free hand.
“I dont feel lucky. I was always told-”
“Forget what they told you teylan. You are free, you can be whatever you want to me” hayalo interrupted before teylan’s insecurities came out.
“Forget what TAP said, all they ever told you were lies”
Were they lies?
Teylan didn't say anything further but silently grips on the old radio he hid in his pocket.
Teylan was such a food, such a big headed, idiotic fool!
He had so many chances and each one he blew it up. Quite literally!
His sarentu family, alma, so’lek, the resistance, the clans, hayalo-
He betrayed everyone, following Mercer's orders secretly, really believing that if he was a good boy doing what he was told, that everything would be better. A naive fool, everyone is going to hate him now. So many injured, how can anyone forgive him for this? Teylan dug his own grave. No one will welcome him back.
Even more now since he joined Mercer in his side of the war. Taking revenge for the downfall of TAP. Mercer was right, he could never be na’vi, a true na’vi. Can never speak of his native language, learn the peoples ways, or do anything na’vi related. Perhaps he is better off as-
“TEYLAN!! YOU SKXAWNG!”
“He is gone, they are all gone. No one will ever tell you terrible things again "Hayalo smiles as she holds teylans still shaking hands. After a great battle, Mercer is gone, and whatever humans stayed, left. Being his voice of reason, Hayalo helped Teylan in shutting down many machines and weapons within the computer systems. Still hard to believe that it really is over.
“Am I truly free….” he mutters his own question.
“Yes teylan, you are as free as an ikran. Now you can live your live as you please, you and your sarentu family "Hayalo encourages, her smile still so bright and radiant after everything that has happened.
“Even better, you can set up a true home for yourself, learn new things and-”
“Wait”
Teylan kindly interrupted his dear friend. He bends down to meet her at an eye level. His mind goes back to many recent events. One moment he remembers was when he was told of nor stabbing Alma, and running away. Not to be seen as of yet.
Maybe, like nor, he needs to be away. To reflect his actions.
“What is it..?” Hayalo asks worryingly.
“Hayalo, I dont think I can ever thank you enough. From the moment we met, you were always there. Helping me, teaching me the best you can, forgiving me after what I did. But…I think, I think I need to go” he says slowly.
“Go? Go where?”
“Somewhere, anywhere. Alone. I am na’vi but, out of my friends, I am more human. Ri’nela is learning how to be a healer, nor was learning how to be a warrior before that incident, my sarentu friend is more na’vi than all of us combined. And me? I still have nothing. I know nothing. So, I want to go, travel and learn on my own. How to be a na’vi”
A few seconds of silence was there, before hayalo smiled, sadness reaching her eyes. Removing her iconic flower from her ear, she gently places it on teylan’s ear.
“I will wait for you then. No matter how long it takes, I will wait for your return. See what you will become” hayalo whispers. Placing a gentle kiss on his cheek, her lips warm and soft.
“Thank you hayalo, I promise, I will return as someone new” he swears as teylan removes his cap and places it on hayalo’s smaller head.
“Just being you is enough for me teylan”
Many, many years have passed. The scars of the dark past have healed, and many moved on. The sarentu clan has grown, from the brink of extinction to its former glory. The humans from the resistances have either passed away in peace, or still holding strong each day. Pandora continues to grow and thrive, the old bases of the rda are now mere husks of what it once was.
Hayalo continues to be as she is, free as an ikran, and everyday she would look out for a certain na’vi that still holds dear to her heart.
She lost count of how long it has been, knowing that at the end, it is pointless. He would return when it is time.
Even after a long time, hayalo still wears teylan’s old cap, always making sure it is in good shape. Still having his scent, bringing a lot of comfort to the human woman. Everyday she prays to Eywa that, wherever teylan is, to guide him, to keep him safe. To return as a new man but still keeping his core traits.
Perhaps she was a fool then, to not tie teylan down, but ever since she met teylan, her heart began to beat differently. Her eyes changing perspective, thoughts seeking memories of him. Her hands craving more of his.
Hayalo never told Teylan how she felt about him. Although there really wasn't time for romance in the middle of an ongoing war. Maybe it is better that he never knew, but hayalo will confess this time. Even if they are old, it won't matter. Teylan deserves to know that hayalo is in-
“Oe tatxaw ma’yawntutsyip”
Turning around quickly, Hayalo's eyes reached to see teylan. An older, stronger looking teylan. Wearing bright colors, his hair longer, beads adoring his body and hair. The flower she gifted him, still tucked behind his ear. He truly does look na’vi.
“Teylan…” hayalo whispers, still taking in the shocking surprise.
Teylan grins, flashing his pearly white fangs, “missed me?”
Teylan is so under appreciated, he is a good, sweet boi! He needs more love! And I am glad to do that. Took me a lot longer because I wanted to make a special cover to this one, hope you all enjoyed it! Until next time! See ya!

hayalovay = until next time
Oe tatxaw ma’yawntutsyip = I returned my little beloved
Hello everyone! So currently I am writing another fic, this one contains all of the sarentu characters.
BUT!
Should I add the other sarentu children that were either mention and/or only found in the game character files? the ones where alma keeps records of the kids? Or only keep the main core? [the player, ri'nela, nor, and teylan?]
Place yours votes! And lets see how this will end up!
