I started drawing this picture of Siegfried and Roy about a year and a half ago, and I never liked it, so I redrew and recolored it many times, until I decided to just finish it a few days ago.

Everyone’s talking about Tiger King, but y’all are out here sleeping on the OG tiger kings.

Like you want eccentric gays with tigers, Siegfried and Roy did it first and without the animal abuse (plus their breeding program is an extension of the Cincinnati Zoo’s).

Like they had a whole Las Vegas mansion called Little Bavaria and the cats had free run of the place, and mostly just hung out and swam in the pool with them.

And yeah, maybe Roy got injured after like 40 years of them doing this, but then there’s Siegfried talking about how Roy getting better made him believe in miracles: “I was praying for a miracle, that he would move. And he moved. Do you know what that did for me? And I think I said, ‘I love you.’”

And it has a happy ending. Siegfried is 80 and Roy is 75 now and they still live together with all their animals. Roy can walk on his own and hold his cubs, and I have yet to see Siegfried be further away than arms reach.
