THE mad comic dialogue ...🐴🎋
I tried my best to articulate my thoughts I love this question so I hope this is somewhat enjoyable to read
Hitoya x Jakurai
Big reason why I ship these two is mostly because of my dear friend Vee since I initially did not care for Hitoya, but the more I learned about his character and his history with Jakurai, I was fascinated with their dynamic.
I love Hitoya’s one sided rivalry with Jakurai that stems from his insecurities and feelings of inferiority towards Jakurai. And despite that, Jakurai loves Hitoya. He’s seemingly oblivious to Hitoya’s feelings and rather than viewing Hitoya like how Hitoya views himself, Jakurai views Hitoya as someone incredibly hardworking and kind; a dear friend.
The tension between them when Hitoya reconnects with Jakurai after a decade was so fun to read with Hitoya dropping all of his grievances with Jakurai + Jakurai desperately trying to reassure Hitoya. Of course their battle got put on hold until the DRB and I loved that the two were left to sort out their problems together and managed to somewhat sort it out
I really liked that panel of Hitoya losing with a smile because it felt like Jakurai had to try against him. Then of course they become a bit more friendly with each other after that and I think it’s really funny how Hitoya thinks Jakurai is making fun of him all the time while Jakurai is genuinely impressed with him.
They simultaneously misunderstand each other and understand each other. Plus, they got that childhood friend history and I enjoy that.
Matenro has a bunch of religious symbolism surrounding them (sky is blue observation) and Jakurai being a savior figure especially makes his dynamic with Hitoya all the more interesting to me. I’ve seen a couple of interpretations of Matenro corresponding with specific figures in Christianity and from that lens I like seeing how Hitoya fits into that. I can probably write out a whole separate theory on that but I’ll move on for now

Jyuto x Doppo
They may not have a whole lot of content together but these two really speak to me and the community built around these two is very inspiring. I love how passionate the fans for these two are and it really sold me on the possibility of their relationship.
We know that these two have canon history and it is a little insane to me that it hasn’t been acknowledged in the slightest ever since. There’s the arb events with them tho and those were really enjoyable to me. I love how Jyuto is someone who tries to present himself as assertive and polite being caught off guard with Doppo’s frantic and anxious behavior.
I like that Jyuto is weirdly nice to Doppo and that the two share drinks and just chat normally outside of their respective groups. I feel like the two understand each other to some degree. I really wish Hypmic would explore their history more but it feels like they forgot about it lol
I’m a big fan of the interpretation of Doppo being oblivious towards Jyuto’s feelings due to his own insecurities and Jyuto being a huge loser internally while trying to come off as cool and suave.
A lot of this ship for me is built off of headcanons but it’s part of the fun!

Sasara x Rosho (by extent, SasaSama)
Oh boy. This is the ship that got me into Hypmic, admittedly. Sasara offers a lot of food for thought with his stance on relationships and the relationships we see him in. We know that Sasara views relationships as fragile and that’s why he refuses trust and doesn’t allow people to view him deeper than surface level
that’s why his relationship with Rosho fell apart to begin with. Sasara knew Rosho was struggling but didn’t say anything and so he accepted it when Rosho asked to leave their group with no fight. Which brings me to Samatoki. I think Samatoki and Sasara are tragic.
Samatoki warms up to Sasara, trusts him, and lets his guard down with him. Sasara saw Rosho in Samatoki and although I think eventually Sasara learned that Samatoki wasn’t going to replace Rosho, Sasara still found a sense of belonging with Samatoki. Of course that all fell apart, thanks Ramuda, but also I feel like even without Ramuda’s interference, I think their own issues would’ve caught up with them- or maybe not, maybe they could’ve worked things out, but we don’t know that.
I do find it really interesting that Samatoki still thinks of Sasasa, wanting an explanation for Sasara’s absence, and Sasara refusing to reflect on their past, avoids that conversation (mostly referencing the movie for this one, at least that was my understanding of the scene forgive me if I’m wrong).
I think Samatoki would’ve liked for Sasara to be a more permanent figure in his life, but Sasara betrayed his trust and now avoids the topic. Okay back to Rosho. Rosho, during their time apart, became a teacher after giving up his comedy dreams.
He silently continues to support Sasara from afar, but ultimately, Rosho is able to move on and establish a new identity for himself without Sasara. Of course, Sasara comes back into Rosho’s life rather suddenly and the two fall back into the friendship they used to have.
I think it’s very sweet that Sasara still wants to reach for the stars with Rosho, even if things are different. I like that things aren’t solved between them right away too. It still takes a decent amount of time for the two of them to talk about their issues (Rosho’s stage fright and Sasara’s trust issues) and even then we see Sasara continues to struggle with vulnerability but with some help of Rosho he’s able to make steps in the right direction.
I feel like there’s a lot I could say on Sasara’s obsession with Rosho in general but I think this thread is long enough and I’m unsure of how to word exactly what I want to say but just know I think about it often
Okay sorry this was so long thanks for reading
