TZJD: another Flyer asks Trevor out on a date
thank you @lavendergaia your prompts take my mind to really random places hahah
Jamie was five beers down when he realised he might have a problem. A 1,83 meters tall problem, with shiny hair and crinkly blue eyes. A problem he wasn’t really sure he wanted to get rid off.
That realization dawned on him as he was sitting on one of the lawn chairs in Cam’s backyard, the smell of barbecue heavy in the evening air as everyone was chatting around, swimming in the pool and just enjoying a chill summer day. Jamie was on his own, savoring a moment of peace when he saw Denver and Trevor talk near the pool, exchanging words that Jamie couldn’t make out, because of the noise his teammates were making, but also simply because they were so far away, and now that he came to think of it, Trevor was definitely too far away for his liking. Jamie was about to do something about it when he saw Denver’s hand slide on Trevor’s waist, Trevor’s head falling back with laughter as they stood a little closer to each other. That's when Jamie realised he had a problem. Because on paper he liked Denver. Denver was a good guy. But then Jamie also felt the urgent need to push him away and remove his hand from Trevor’s waist. So you could see how all of that was a bit confusing, right ?
Scratching as his summer beard, Jamie got up to get a new beer, annoyance flaring hot under his skin as two truths became very clear to him despite the alcohol in his veins. One, he was jealous of Denver. Second, he wanted to kiss Trevor. Maybe even more than that, but now wasn’t quite the right time to consider the possibilities, especially as Cam looked over to him with an amused smirk.
‘Hey buddy, you’re a bit tipsy, aren’t you ?’ Cam asked, his big hand landing on Jamie’s shoulder.
‘M’fine’ answered Jamie, taking another beer. ‘Peachy even’ he added with a fake smile, the sight of Trevor laughing seared into his brain, his whole face transformed into an annoyed expression, his whole body forgetting to filter his reactions correctly.
Cam looked at Jamie with slight worry, but then as he looked down to the meat on the grill, Jamie had disappeared again, leaving him wondering what had put his friend in such a mood. Jamie had made his way back to his chair and he looked around to find Trevor who wasn’t near Denver anymore. As he was searching the pool, a voice resonated near him, making him startle.
‘Jimmy boy, you’ll never guess what happened.’ said Trevor as he sat on Jamie’s lap like it was his place, not even bothering to ask if Jamie minded. And of course he didn’t because Trevor was warm and his smell was so reassuring and-
‘What ?’ Jamie remembered to ask, leaning forward, an arm coming around Trevor’s waist as he leaned backward, his ass oh so close to Jamie’s dick. Unaware of his best friend's struggle, Trevor let his head fall back on Jamie’s shoulder.
‘Denver asked me out on a date.’
Jamie closed his eyes a second, inhaling sharply. Suddenly he needed Trevor off of him, and far away from him. Quickly. But he knew that would be weird, even through the fog of the alcohol in his brain, he knew that much.
‘And ?’ he asked with a hoarse voice, hating the pit of despair that had opened in his stomach.
‘Jim, don’t be ridiculous.’ chuckled Trevor, shaking his head slightly before he turned his sunkissed face towards Jamie’s, looking so pretty Jamie could have cried. Their noses were almost touching and if Jamie just leaned in his direction, just a tiny bit- ‘Denver is a nice guy but I’m all accounted for.’
Maybe it was the beers. Or the heat. The lack of proper meals since that morning. Or maybe it was the fact that Jamie’s brain sometimes stalled when Trevor was near. But the last sentence that fell from Trevor’s mouth couldn’t be true. This was Jamie’s worst nightmare and he suddenly felt like he was going to be sick. But Trevor was still on his lap, still pressed against his chest, and he couldn’t move.
‘Acounted for ?’ he managed to get out, throat dry and a little too tight to manage real sentences.
Trevor didn't answer but instead sat up, shifting mercifully on Jamie’s thighs. ‘Well, yeah ?’ he said as if it was more a question than a statement. He frowned at Jamie for a while before he laughed softly and made that thing that drove Jamie insane, the little head tilt that exposed his throat. ‘Jamie, do you remember we are dating ?’ he asked softly, his index finger coming under Jamie’s chin, his lips coming so close Jamie could feel them brush against his mouth, sending tingles in his whole body.
‘Are we ?’ he asked dumbly, his mind so fuzzy that he couldn’t really figure it out on his own. He tightened his arm around Trevor, keeping him close, appreciating his warmth and the way he felt against Jamie’s chest.
‘Not the first time you got so drunk you forgot.’ Trevor chuckled, kissing Jamie softly, his hand cupping his cheek gently while Jamie blinked a few times, his eyes going wide, not believing what had just happened to him.
‘Do it again’ Jamie whispered fervently, chasing after Trevor’s lips, making him laugh as he indulged Jamie’s request with delight.
