[The door of the house slams open.] Where is he?!
Edgar begins barking wildly at the intruder, before sitting at Kiel’s feet and wagging his tail. Jack walked out from the kitchen, where he was carefully cutting up vegetables for dinner—taking a lot of time with each cut as he always did. When the door slammed open, he made an uneven cut.
Jack tensed up hearing Kiel’s voice, but at the same time he was relieved to hear it was not a “her” he was speaking about. That would be a whole other can of worms and he’d be unable to get out of this one. He was prepared for this conversation with Kiel, just in case he decided to be possessive with Arthur again.
Though, he was genuinely annoyed by the sudden intrusion into his home. “You mean Arthur, I bet,” he said. “He left the other day.” He looked at the door. “I hope you’re going to at least close the door, Kiel.”
