SHEEP HAS REACHED MAXIMUM INTENSITY
Jack watched everyone hitting High Striker. He was not particularly competitive or fond of carnival games. As he took another bite of his burger, he only could assume that his stomach was going to rebel later. Food at establishments during these events were never particularly kind to the body.
Curiousity Killed the (Daryl) Cat || Jack/Daryl
Daryl shielded his eyes as he stepped out of his laboratory, the bright summer day offending his pupils. One of his experiments had failed horribly, so he decided to take a walk. Clear his mind. Get some fresh air.
As always, a few moments after taking off he fell into the typical Daryl mumble that people around the valley knew his so well for. His eyes were focused ahead of him, though he wasn’t looking at anything in particular.
“… Maybe if I change the proportions…”
Without giving much thought, as he usually didn’t, he turned up the street that ran next to the farm.
“… What if… No..” He shook his head while placing a finger on his chin, “but I could try a different solvent…”
Jack had been out taking his usual stroll around the valley, following his chores. Very little in the Valley went unnoticed, and the fact Daryl was out and about would definitely be a cause for conversation at the bar.
“Daryl!” He hurried down the hill to greet the mad scientist he called a neighbor. Somehow, Jack had befriended Daryl in his years in the valley, obtaining a Seedmaker to help test. Since then, he’s found that Daryl was a weird, but otherwise not so bad guy.
“What’cha up to?”
Acrophobia ||(Margaret/Jack)
“It’s ok.” All Margaret wanted to focus on was one foot in front of the other as she followed behind Jack. She kept her eyes on his back, so as not to look down. It was hard though, cause she wanted to make sure her feet would hit the branch each time she lifted one up.
Once she got to the trunk, she almost laughed at how Jack looked. Stifling her chuckle, she also straddled the trunk and began to crawl down. It was much easier than she thought it would be. She was glad that he kept checking on her though.
“Halfway, halfway…” She mumbled to herself.
Jack fell silent as he focused on making it the rest of the way across. At the end, he placed a hand against the wall and felt around for a good place to grip.
“Margaret,” he said. “It’s not going to be easy to follow me without looking down.” He bit his lip, thinking of a way to help her. “While we’re climbing, just focus on talking and where the nearest place to grip is.” Her hands had to be soft; even his calloused hands would find climbing down this wall uncomfortable. He hoped she would be alright.
Acrophobia ||(Margaret/Jack)
“Animals….sounds cute.” Margaret decided she wanted to see more of these animals. The horse still standing under the tree was quite adorable.
“Y-you want to climb down the rocks?” She didn’t know if she could handle that, but she definitely couldn’t handle jumping down. “I-if it’s the only way down, I guess that’s what we will haveto do.” She gulped and waited for more instruction from Jack.
“They usually are. Though, we got a few creepy and not-so-cute ones as well.” He grinned. “And some may be incredibly familiar to you. Cluckadoodles are probably related to chickens somehow…” He rubbed his chin and murmured to himself. “Maybe the separation of our continents led to a split in their evolution…” He loved to think about such things.
Jack slowly stood up, holding himself steady by grabbing onto a nearby branch. “Yup, that seems to be our best course of action,” he replied. “Unless, you’re fine spending the night in a tree.” With a guy you’ve just met, no less.
“Just follow me and don’t look down…”
“Maybe…I’ve never heard of animals though, but I think that is probably the way that it happened.” She thought of the cluckadoodle and tried to imagine something that was like it, but wasn’t it. That was hard to do.
“Ah, no I would not enjoy that.” She said. She hesitated to stand up, but it was now or never. She stood up on shaky legs and hugged another branch with all her strength. Don’t look down, don’t look down!
“Lead the way.” She finally said. She was ready to get off of this stupid branch and back onto the solid ground, which she would probably kiss when she got there.
“Oh!” Jack covered his mouth. “Sorry, was just thinking out loud and...” He would have brought his other hand to his chest as he laughed, had not not needed it to hold the branch. At the very least, he felt ready to tackle the task of climbing back to the ground.
He cautiously placed one foot in front of the other, walking down the branch like a tightrope with his hands gripping another branch above him. When he reached the trunk, he swung one leg over and straddled it. “E-er...” This was mildly uncomfortable and shimmying down a tree trunk sounded even moreso. He moved into a crawling position and moved towards the rock wall, slowly. He occassionally looked back to Margaret to see if she was still following him.

Acrophobia ||(Margaret/Jack)
“Oh she’s doing well.I don’t talk to her much myself, but she seems in good health.” She wondered why she never saw Jack when he came to visit a year ago. Then again, so many people come through Selphia it’s hard to keep track of them all.
“Ah yes, I knew you were.” She nodded her head, glad she was right.
She thought about what he said and had to agree. “I guess you are right. It’s the falling that I am afraid of. It’s just, when you are so high up, the ground is so far away, anything can happen.” She shuddered.
“She does seem like the type to keep herself busy,” he sighed wistfully. It was not that he hated living in Forget-Me-Not. It was just a very lonely place sometimes with very little occurring. A few years back, the mayor of Mineral Town held festivals there to help promote the village. It has since ended, and he was not even there when they were going on.
“I guess I got that kind of look to me, huh?”
“Yeah. It’s easier to just focus on making sure you don’t fall. If you got a good grip on a branch, you should be a little more at ease.”
“Oh that’s not a bad thing, I assure you.” She didn’t want him to think she thought less of him because he was a farmer. “I think farming is a great skill. You can grow all kinds of things and raise all kinds of monsters.”
“Yes, I suppose you are right.” She flexed her hands on the branch, tightening her grip. “Now that we are sitting here, how do we get down. I really hope you don’t ask me to jump again, because I just can’t do that.”
“We call them animals out here,” he said. “Most of them are a lot more docile than the monsters in Adonea.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “Well... there are abnormal things out here still. Whatever Muku-Muku is, a talking plant, and I even heard rumors of a mermaid in Forget-Me-Not.”
“Well, I could hold you and I could drop down.” He laughed nervously. “But the safest might be walking down that trunk there--it’s growing out at an angle we can walk down it. Then we just have to climb down the side of the rock wall.”

“I am actually from Selphia.” Boy did she wish she was safe at the cafe and not in the air. Jack looked like a farmer to her, but she didn’t want to assume. “So what do you do?” She tried to make small talk to keep herself busy.
“Wait, does that mean you are a acrophobiac too?” She couldn’t believe that he put his own fears aside just to help her.
“It’s been far too long since I last visited Selphia,” He looked up to the sky,kicking his legs out in front of him. “How’s the Princess?” He turned his head toward her. “I met her about a year ago, when I went to visit.”
“I’m a farmer in a small village now too far from here, in Forget-Me-Not Valley,” he explained.
“Sort of. I’m more afraid of falling than the actual heights. The sensation of falling is... unpleasant.”
Acrophobia ||OPEN RP
As soon as she was on the branch, she clung to it like her life depended on it. Which it kind of did. “Thank you.”
She watched the horse under the tree, still feeling sick to her stomach as she looked down. It looked nice enough. “Mega…that’s a nice name.” She gripped his hand and gave it a small shake. “My name is Margaret. If you haven’t noticed, I’m not really from around here, Jack.” She let go of his hand and took another peak at the ground.
“So, what’s the plan to get down?”
“No sweat.” He looked up to her and followed her with his gaze as she sat down.
“I figured,” he replied with a laugh. “Heard people talking about someone that fits your appearance.” He took a deep breath to try and recompose himself. “Not that it’s a bad thing. Where in Adonea are you from?”
“As for getting down, I think we should er... calm our nerves for a bit,” he explained. “Getting over the paralysis of fear is the toughest part.”
Acrophobia ||OPEN RP
“You want me to let go?!” She shook her head rapidly. There was no way she was going to just trust this random stranger to catch her from a tree! “No way! I can’t do that!” She was too scared. True, the tree wasn’t that tall, but after the fall from the cliff and still being a decent height off the ground, Margaret had just about had it with heights.
With every second, her arms shook more and her grip was beginning to slip. She barely opened her eyes to try and look down again, but felt that wave of nausea and fear wash over her again.
Jack closed his eyes. He did suppose that was a bit much to ask of someone he just met. He did not want to do plan B, but it was the best alternate idea he had. He found a good foothold in the rock and began to climb up to where he could climb across the trunk to get to the branch the woman was on. His hands were sweating underneath his gloves as he did his best to not look down as well.
“Here,” he said as he stood on the branch she hung onto. He gripped a branch above him. He focused on the horizon as he waited for her to grab onto his outreached hand.
Margaret was surprised when the man was suddenly right next to her in the tree. He looked rather pale, as if he was also an acrophobe. “What are you doing up here?” She watched as he stretched his hand out to her and realized what he was trying to do.
“You want me to grab on to you?” Margaret asked, puzzled. Could he handle his weight and hers and climb down with them both? Margaret didn’t know, but her grip was slipping even more, so she quickly released one hand, swinging dangerously with her weakened grip and tightly grabbed his hand. “Please don’t drop me!”
Jack gripped her tightly and hoisted her up onto the branch with a hard grunt. “Ah... alright, now...” He sat down next to her, rubbing his arm. “Well, you’re not going to fall, but...” He let his legs dangle in the air and laughed.
“Things should be... easier...” He looked around for his horse. “Mega, you there?” He pursed his lips and whistled. A horse came galloping back up the path. “What, I wasn’t abandoning you.” He turned to the woman. “Um... this is my horse, Mega.” He held a hand out. “And I’m Jack. Sounds like a good time as any to introduce ourselves, I think.”

Margaret could only think about one thing as she hung onto the branch of the tree; Oh my gosh someone please help me!!
How she got into this situation boggled her mind. One minute she was walking along a path and next she was blown over sideways by a strong gust of window and right off the side of a cliff. Luckily there was a huge tree growing on the side of rocks and she managed to grab a hold of one of the strong branches.
Now there she was, dangling high above the ground. Her mind wasn’t working, her fear was taking over. She had a severe case of acrophobia and panic was bubbling up in her chest, making it hard to breath.
“Someone please…” She whimpered. Her arms began to shake and tears stung at her eyes. She heard the sound of someone approaching the cliff and let out a loud scream, trying to alert them to her dire situation.
Jack had heard about a woman in strange clothes with pointed ears around the area, and whenever he heard that kind of news, he knew that it was going to be an eventful day. Adoneans were always so interesting, when they visited. He was riding down the path from Mineral Town to the Valley, on Mega, when he heard the scream from above.
“You need help?” Jack asked, hopping off Mega. He placed his hands on his hips and thought about how someone could even get stuck in that tree. It did not look easy to climb. He gave he a reassuring grin, when he saw her distressed face. Everything was going to be alright; he just had to find a way to get her down. Somehow.
Margaret was relived that someone had actually showed up and vigorously nodded her head. “Yes please! I was blown off that cliff over there and got stuck in this tree, but I have a horrible fear of heights!” She tried to look down at him, but that only made her fear get worse, so she squeezed her eyes shut.
Her arms were starting to hurt from holding on for so long, but she refused to loosen her grip. It was so high up. So high…. Even with her eyes close she began to get slightly nauseous.
“I’m really scared!” She whimpered. She usually wasn’t this much of a baby, but her acrophobia was really bad and she couldn’t help it.
Jack looked up at the cliff and to the tree.
How’d she manage that? he wondered. Despite her perception, the height really was not that far from the ground. The drop from the cliff was far scarier.”I know that feeling,” he said. She was hanging from that branch. If she were sitting, he could take his time easing her off.
“I’m going to need you to trust me,” he said. “I can try--I’m going to catch you.” He was pretty confident in his strength, so all he had to worry about was making sure he did not miss her. He walked over and stood a little bit underneath her and held his arms out. “You with me?” he called up to her. “Just don’t look down and take a deep breath.”

I’m back. ^_^
I decided to mostly reset Jack for the sake of most of the people he RPed with no longer being with us. I’m keeping a few relationships to serve as springboards as well.
That said, who’d like me to send Jack to them?
Jack stopped by Gwen's ranch with Mega, feeling really nervous. He had no real REASON to visit her. He just felt like he should. Upon seeing her, the first words from his mouth was, "Long time no see. What's up?"
She had seen him coming down the road and took the time to sit on a hay bale to wait for him. Gwen cupped her chin in her hand and looked up at him. “Well, you at the moment. What’s up with you?” she questioned.
"I don't really know," he said, laughing. "I don't really bug you as much as I should." He put his weight on one leg and smirked. "Though, all things considering, maybe that's a good thing."
"Just taking Mega out for a bit of exercise," he said. "It isn't as cold as it usually is today, after all."
