[As a general rule, Dean didn't get along with psychics. Half the time he refused to acknowledge they were real psychics, because it was all-too-easy to fake it, and then another half of the psychics turned to the dark side with their powers. He'd never understand that, he just knew that's what happened.
Of course, he'd known good psychics. Pamela was a nice lady, if a little creepy, until he'd gotten her killed.
But anyone else? It took a lot to get him to trust them.
Bobby had referred him to this one, a girl he could use as a medium. If he had had any other options, he wouldn't have gone to her at all, but he had to find the bones of this spirit before she imploded the entire damn town.
So here he was, knocking at a stranger's door, with every intent to have her use whatever ungodly powers she had to talk to a damn ghost. No, he didn't like this plan very much. Maybe it would have been better if Cas was with him - or, even better, to just have Cas help him instead of going this route. But no, Cas was busy elsewhere, as so often he was.
Groaning and steeling himself, he finally knocked on the door, standing straight and strong. Time to man up.]
