No form or essay necessary! If you want to make an ask blog, just make sure the character isn't taken. Most of the blogs have a list or something that keeps track of all the members (I know mine does). And even if you don't feel like making a blog, roleplaying on skype is something we do a lot and those characters range from homestuck to star trek to sherlock to attack on titan to avengers--really anything you want~
