So as i promised i will do this at least, here is the weekly review i write for Koikimo (koi to yobu ni wa kimochi warui) - Episode 11
SPOILERS AHEAD DO NOT PROCEED ANY FURTHER IF YOU ARE NOT UPDATED WITH THE LATEST EPISODE
Episode starts with Ichika and her friends discussing which college they will join and pursue what stream. Ichika wasn't that sure about what to do so she asks what Ryo was like but Rio told how Ryo was forced by his dad to accept whatever decision he made for him. Clearly the relationship between Ryo and his dad is not at it's best as also suggested in the past episodes. Ichika discusses her confusion seeking some clarity on the topic with Ryo later on a phone call. He suggests her to follow her interests and maybe being an art curator was her thing. She does some research about that.
Also, Tamaru and Ichika hang out. He gave her some sweets for the White day. He was clearly blushing, he is so not over her. You got something there. I feel like Tamaru-kun signing up for liberal arts and Ichika taking up the stream of an art curator is some kind of clue. Like the writers are suggesting more interaction between the two and not in the friendship kind of thing but more than that. I am a little suspicious of them ending up in the same college. I won't be surprised slightest if they actually do to say the least.
Ryo's dad overheard Rio and her mom's conversation about Ryo and Ichika, her close friend. Ryo's dad confronted him or more like assumed things and that led to a heated conversation between the two. Making all of them upset.
Ryo is somewhat very upset about the fact that he doesn't get along with his father anymore. They don't have the usual father son relationship. I feel really bad for Ryo. Even though I know he must have messed up when he was young, his father is harsh on him. You can't deny that when he met Ichika at the park for flower viewing. He shared an old memory of how his father cheered him up and that shows how much he longs for things to get normal between the two. Ichika almost said I love you to Ryo but it got interrupted as Masuda san and Rio were back with their food haul. It really suprised Ryo when he realized what Ichika was going to say. For Ichika she was blushing madly. Awwww so cute these two are so cute. I ship them so hard.💕💕😁😁
From the perspective of Ryo's father, he has seen Ryo mess up before maybe? (He was a fuckboy before he met Ichika, don't come at me, it's the truth✋🏻). I don't know why Ryo was like that but there would have been some contributing factors like his dad's way of dealing with him and all. (I won't put all the blame on poor Ryo. He is going through a lot. Poor baby!🥺🥺) I guess that's why his dad is a little too harsh on him. Any parent would want the best for their child wouldn't they? They all have different ways to deal with it so🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ off course he could have done that in a better manner but you can't change how people react neither can you change the way it's affects the child.
When Ryo's father met Ichika because she came over so they (Rio and Ichika) could go shopping together. He asks her about Ryo and if he is bothering her and all. She was honest with her answer and said that he was kind and was a great help. He was delighted to hear that which was apparent with his facial expressions. He doesn't hate Ryo. He is just worried about him messing up big and regretting later, maybe that is why he checks on him. He wants him to be a good human being.
I guess Ryo and Ichika's relationship did change Ryo for good and things might get better between him and his dad as well. I hope so!🤞🏻🤞🏻🥺🥺. I was seriously so sad seeing Ryo all depressed but how happy he gets when he thinks about Ichika.🙈 God damn it has me blushing behind the screen.
The next episode title is a bit weird idk i cannot connect the dots (maybe i am way too dumb to understand?)
Only 1 episode for the season ending. Will things get better between Ryo and his dad before that? Will Ichika and Tamaru end up in the same college? Does Tamaru still love Ichika? Idk but I look forward to the next episode.
Signing off until next week.
