He looked at her for a moment, letting everything that just happened settle in his mind before responding. How was he supposed to explain what had just happened, how they lured everyone off the ship so Winn was alone and took that moment to start a three against one fight for information that was stored on the ship. How was he supposed to explain that the odds were against him, even with his Legion ring. And that he was sure he was going to die. 

“I’m okay.” He whispered softly, the pain was there, he was sure that his ribs were broken and he messed up his ankle with a bad kick. But just like when he had gone out with James at night, he knew that he signed up for danger when he got here. “I’m still here.”

Winn looked up as he lay on the ground, not sure what he was going to do. It was simple really, he was supposed to stay on the ship. He hadn’t really gotten a hang of using the Legion ring that he was given and it was still a lot to learn. But these people were smart, they got all the other Legionnaires off the ship, leaving Winn alone while they stormed over and attacked. It was a slight hostage situation for a moment, and Winn didn’t like the feeling of being used as leverage for the others to escape. Of course the crushing pressure on his windpipe wasn’t really helpful and they took the ring off him before he had a chance to do anything. He wasn’t getting enough air and he struggled in their grip. He didn’t come to the future just to die. But then she came, used her powers to save him and he fell to his knees. “Just a couple hits here and there, nothing that won’t heal.”
