Ziggy update 5/10

Well, this was a VERY long day!

We did blood work and ultrasound today, everything looks mostly normal. He also got neutered as today was our last window. I was freaking terrified but thankfully everything went well and he's doing alright for now.

We had to increase his dosage to 2.4 mg to see if his eye will get any better or is permanently damaged. I got four more vials today which should be enough to finish the treatment.

If things keep going well his last injection will be on the 13th and it can't come soon enough, because poor guy's really had it with the pain and the stress and today we barely managed to administer the dose.

Keep your fingers crossed for the last stretch!

I can't express how grateful I am for the people who helped us, you're the only reason my baby's purring in my lap right now, I love you all! 💜💜💜💜💜

Ziggy update 29/09

I know it's been forever since the last update, but work's been insane and life's been, well, life.

Buddy boy is still doing okay, we had a minor fever spike that scared the hell out of me, but thankfully it went away. His right eye is still foggy and he doesn't see right, so the doctors are worried the virus isn't fully gone as it should've been better by now. We might have to do more injections than the original course suggested and I don't even wanna think about that because financially it would be next to impossible, I'm still one payment behind and I was hoping it would be the last one. Also the poor cat is at his wits end, he's constantly in pain, he's scared and he's becoming aggressive. I just want the nightmare to end for all of our sakes!

We're at day 71, six days away from blood work, ultrasound and neutering, hopefully everything will go smoothly. We have to do another blood test at day 85 and if that's looking good we're starting the reverse countdown, so three more months of nail biting! I'm trying to stay positive and believe that he'll make it and live a long, happy, disease-free life though!

Ziggy update 25/8

So, we're at day 39 of the GS treatment, still a long way to go.

Baby boy's doing much better, we did blood work and ultrasound the other day and everything seems to be as close to normal as possible given the circumstances. He's eating and growing and I'm (very cautiously) hopeful that the very worst is behind us.

The injections have gotten more painful and he hates them with a passion but he's behaving admirably despite that. I'm honestly amazed at his patience and will to fight after everything he's been through!

Like I said, still a long way to go though, so fingers crossed.

The guy who gives us the medicine is being very understanding for now and hopefully I won't be losing my job the next few months (test period and all that) so if nothing dramatic happens we should be able to finish the treatment. Any help is still very much appreciated because the dosage is already increasing as he's gaining weight and what's enough for a week now will barely cover three days soon.
