Repost By @animaljusticeproject: "Harrowing new video released of first dolphin drive during the 2015 Taiji slaughter season. Ric O'Barry, founder of The Dolphin Project and star of the film "The Cove," was in Japan to witness the first days of the Taiji dolphin hunt. In the video, a panicked family of Risso's dolphins is shown swimming frantically around a tiny sea pen, having been herded from the deeper waters into the makeshift slaughterhouse. They seek to escape, without success. One young Risso, overwhelmed by fear, throws himself on the rocky shore at O'Barry's feet, thrashing and rolling onto his back as he tries to escape. O'Barry can't do anything to help, as he would be arrested. Activists are only allowed to witness the hunt, not interfere. Each year, 20,000 dolphins are slaughtered, while others are taken captive and sold to aquariums. www.animaljusticeproject.com #animaljusticeproject #taiji #dolphin #dolphins #japan#savejapansdolphins #seashepherd#boycottcaptivity #RicOBarry #maketheconnection#aquariums#thedolphinproject #endcaptivity #veganactivists#activism#marineparks #boycottcaptivity #taiji #TaijiCove" (via #RapidRepost @AppsKottage)
