Up until recently, I had completely forgotten that I owned a copy of Zelda’s novel. I was in a spur of the moment meander that I should look for it, when I rediscovered it a few weeks later after rearranging my stacks. The moral of the story, there’s always a chance that you already have the book! I don’t know whether I’ll like it, or think it the eccentric tinkerings of that wild Fitzgerald woman like a lot of other people may have thought in her time. But right now I’m just grateful in the same way that I’m grateful to have anything by Anne Brontë. The world tried to stop them both from writing their own story as they see it. But onwards they went. And so I’m thinking it doesn’t really matter if I like it. Because she wanted to write it.
