This tree was more than half dead and a bent up, leaning twig when we moved in. The bed was bare, sandy, cracked and barren. I’m quite proud of the work we’ve done on the yard and gardens—this tree is really beautiful in person; but pics just never seem to do it justice. At the same time, nobody gave me the name of the manufacturer. And then a week later, on a chance trip to Nukkad Café, to plan our next Green Impact Eco Mela, I saw this triangular packet lying on a shelf. Intrigued by the shape I picked it up, and saw EUREKA …just what I was looking for. When I asked the Café owner, he said a customer had left it there, and his wife made them. So yes, I got in touch with the wife…you guessed it – this is Jagruti with her AMAZING range of recycled stuff. And well we’ve really taken off from there. It’s such a wonderfully eco-friendly concept. Not only does she use waste paper, she’s also providing employment to so many rural women. And the process uses hardly any power. People crack me up with this #notakindle business. I get it. I love the feel and smell of a tangible book. I have over 200 books myself! Used books. #Vintage yellowed goodness. But sometimes there is a new book that I am excited to read! So I download it if I simply can't wait to buy it used. That way I'm supporting the writer and helping to reduce the need to cut down trees. I would love it if books were all made with #recycled paper, but they aren't. 30 million trees are cut down each year for books, just in the US. Using 100 gallons of water per tree.
