BNHA Season 7 Ending | 「Bud」 by Omoinotake
This sequence is brutal as a Shouto fan. It's really painful to see how not only the Soba Brothers have no cute "what if", but Toya's "what if" is Shoto-less.
But then the next cut is a reminder that Shoto wasn't trying to save an imaginary crying child who doesn't exists anymore, but Toya's actual current self in his damaged, hateful reality.
The ending I wanted.
There is so much on this final spread, but I want to talk about how Izuku sees Tomura's ghost and how in the final panel Shoto and Ochako are not only looking ahead but also keeping their eyes on Izuku.
And I know a lot of people will interpret this with shipping lenses, but to me foremost this feels like a small nod to the "Savior Trio" and the incredible loss the suffered and the burden and survivor guilt they must carry for the rest of their lives. And how for them, being heroes comes with this added layer to know that to reach out is putting your heart out there and still risk failure and pain. But also, their smiles tell me that they will make it, because they'll be watching out for each other in this sense too.
