DP x DC prompt [27]

Sam took Danny to a Gotham gala and there is a ivy attack.

The reason why isn't that important, what matters is that the inside of the whole place now looks like a tropical garden.

Sam is fascinated and a little in awe but sadly, now isn't the time to fangirl over what's happening. Danny is missing.

She hijacks some of ivy's plants with her own liminal plant powers to work through the impromptu jungle and get Danny back.

It kind of turns the plants she's taking over black and covered in thorns and overall makes them look a lot creepier and like they want to eat meat.

The other plants around those now start to recoil.

It helps a lot with working through the jungle.

She thinks she's found him and does a daring rescue where at the end he lands in her arms.

But it's actually Damian Wayne, so she puts him down and points him in the direction of the exit and then goes back to looking for Danny.

Damian is left speechless and with a need to find out more about the Manson's daughter. Because he doesn't want to deal with a Poison Ivy 2 in the future, that's all. Absolutely no other reason what so ever.

As all that is happening, on the other side of the jungle Danny is keeping the plants at bay with his ice.

He thinks he's being subtle about it but he's thinking in Amity logic, not Gotham logic, and people are gonna think he's a meta now.

Pamela is distracted from her original goal cause she's a little worried about the teen shaped avatar of the Black.

Her plants are screaming "scared scared scared" at her, because Sam is essentially infecting the Green with her own connection to the Black.

Things are turning kinda messy fast.

The Gotham Ambiance

Of course he'd realized that Gotham city would be louder than rural little Amity Park. He just didn't think it would be… this loud, which might be dumb of him.

Danny has a nice apartment, it's several floors up, it's got big windows (bullet proof too, but he's heard that's pretty usual in the 'nicer' parts of Gotham), an actually serviceable balcony, a decent view if you like streets and other towering buildings (at least he's not staring directly at the windows of a different apartment complex), and that's on top of other great amenities.

Arguably, he can't complain about anything.

It's just that with his enhanced hearing the extra dampening effect of the thick windows isn't doing anything.

every night is a never ending stream of car honking, police sirens, the occasional noise of gunshots, shouting, a helicopter passing over, jet engines?!

At least the rain on the windows sounds nice.

And he has tried ear plugs but they cause irritation and he just can't sleep with them in, He's tried tea that's meant to help with sleep and meditation music to drown out the noise of the city but neither helps. But besides all that he's fairly certain there is a different reason why he can't seem to relax and fall asleep.

Honestly, people are starting to think he's a native Gothamite what with the tired and 'done with life' look on his face during the day.

It's not after a week that something happens that changes everything.

He'd been curled up in bed, trying his hardest to just fall asleep (and hopefully stay asleep) when he'd thought he heard a faint zwip followed by a thunk and a slight creak of metal. It would have probably been missed by anyone with normal hearing.

Danny had carefully opened his eyes and noticed the caped figure on the railing of his balcony, perched and canvassing the surroundings. He'd instantly recognized this individual as one of the Bats, which one? Too hard to tell from the angle Danny was at, the pelting rain sure didn't help either.

But even so, suddenly a calm passed over Danny, settling under the covers was easy and comfortable and falling asleep happened quickly.

Conclusion, having a guardian gargoyle right outside his window puts the part of him that needs to be reassured that everyone is protected at ease and finally lets him sleep.

This poses a different problem however… sleeping just becomes impossible again the next night when he doesn't see a bat.

Danny decides the solution is simple, he reinforces his balcony, creates somewhat of a overhang that shrouds a part of it even more in shadow and shields it a bit from the rain and then he spreads rumors of gang activity in the neighborhood.

It's annoying and probably a manipulative waste of their time, but Danny is desperate, he needs his sleep dammit.

meanwhile in the Batcave Danny's balcony gets added to the list of favorite spots to land during patrol.

DP x DC Prompt [26]

Danny is tasked with retrieving artifacts of the infinite realms that ended up in the living world, but he uses all the best mercs and known grave robbing villains to get what he wants and they keep doing a "You have potential, become my pupil" pitch at him and he's not interested.

He just wants this shit done quick and he's completely using them and their resources. That's it.

Meanwhile the justice league is getting increasingly more worried about the mysterious meta teen that's working with all these high profile villains and is apparently hoarding a lot of ancient artifacts.

Just what is this kid up to...

DP x DC Prompt [32]

Tucker's PDA got destroyed during the latest ghost fight and Tucker begs Danny to help him replace it. Aka, getting the money together.

Danny thinks about it and gets an idea. He can just remember some lottery numbers (not the jackpot of course, for obvious reasons) and during a time mission from Clockwork get the money that way.

Tucker thinks its a great idea. So they go with that.

Sadly CW's time assignments are all over the place in terms of time periods so Danny ends up with with some strange cash.

And some other weird trinkets. (As long as its worth money, he doesn’t mind.)

Clockwork was planning to intervene and give Danny another lesson about messing with the past and the consequences... until he saw Danny ruin Vandal Savage's plans. Mess something up on accident for Ra's al Ghul. Make it so Morgaine le Fey wouldn't get her hands on an artifact. Redirect Circe's attention...

He decides to just let it be, whatever happens, happens.

And so eventually Danny has enough funds to help Tucker out and stops his shenanigans.

The consequences catch up to him when a few days later he opens the door to a sharply dressed man that he recognises. It's just that he recognises him from ancient Britain.

"...Mr. Blood?"

"Good day Daniel, I was wondering if you still have the little red book Nimue gave you? Also i would suggest something a bit stronger than a spectral shield considering the kinds of enemies you've made."

Jason Blood gives the Fenton anti ghost shield an appraising look while Danny mentally blue-screens.

Heir to the World

Years ago when the justice league was still a new thing, the doctors Fenton had been worried it was another ploy of a group ghosts to manipulate and trick people only to hurt them in the end.

They had already gone through a whole investigative ordeal when the justice league of America first started so they had perfected their methods, this time things would go a lot more smoothly.

They gather samples of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman and the Flash.

They don't bother with Green Lantern cause he's obviously just some human guy with a special ring.

When Green Arrow makes his debut they wonder if they should detour and get a sample of him too but he's also obviously just a dude with a bow.

Ironic how the heroes with Green in their name are clearly not ghosts.

Anyway...

Analysing takes a while, and the Fentons aren't known for being very lab safe, so when a sample goes missing they tend to assume the other was done with it and disposed it properly.

In reality the sheer amount of pure active ectoplasm has taken a hold of the samples and is mashing them together in an attempt to properly manifest into existence.

It sadly can't get much further than a "larval stage" with the resources available.

But still, it's an eventful day when the doctors Fenton and their toddler daughter wake up to what sounds like the cries of a baby coming from the lab.

There they find a little baby boy with black hair and blue eyes, and as they coo and fuss over the child they simply don't care where exactly he came from.

The rest of the world cares though, it cares a lot.

The seas whisper of a new heir to the throne, the weavers of fate gasp at the new threads that get spun and send a message to the queen, the speedforce ripples with a new wave of potential.

Yes, the world cares, and it's only a matter of time before things can no longer be ignored.

Finding Andy (Curry)

Danny zips around the massive dark aquarium with a net carefully snatching up all sorts of colourful marine life before going up and gently depositing them in smaller tanks that Sam prepared.

"You do realise this is extremely illegal, right?"

"Taking these poor endangered fish from their homes is extremely illegal. We're righting a wrong here Danny, and you still owe me one"

Danny sighs and goes back down but keeps talking.

"I just don't want to be accused of stealing again"

"Tucker got us covered, we'll be fine. You just keep fishing Danny, I think we're almost done. "

Danny carefully goes through the dark depths of the aquarium again and it's then that he sees a much bigger shape dart away from him.

Sam said this entire thing was filled with poached endangered marine wildlife so everything in it needs to be retrieved. Aka, Danny goes in pursuit.

It takes some doing but eventually Danny gets a hold of it and it's worryingly little girl shaped.

He holds the little girl in front of him and just kinda looks for a second at this squirmy child that can apparently breathe underwater.

"Sam! Sam, holy Fffffffuudge"

"What!? What??"

"There is a baby in the aquarium!" He holds up the squealing little red head who has apparently decided what's happening now is funny actually.

"A baby!?"

"In the aquarium!" He points down at the water.

"Why is there a baby in the aquarium!!?"

"How am I supposed to know?! Maybe these weirdos accidentally fished up one of Aquaman's people?"

"Oh my god, we need to bring her back!"

"How the ff-frick-" the little girl giggles and goes, "Fik!" Making Danny wince,  "-are we supposed to do that, I don't know where Atlantis is at Sam"

"Call the justice league?"

"Didn't they disband again not too long ago?"

"... shit, you're right"

Danny rushes to cover the little girls ears while hissing, "language" and Sam slaps a hand over her mouth.

"Sorry..."

Danny floats in a circle above the water bouncing the child who seems fascinated with his glowing white hair, "Okay, okay, here's an idea. Jazz has her drivers license. We'll do an impromptu road trip to the east coast"

"... yeah, sounds good, let's go"

Sam holds the little girl as Danny stacks up all the tanks filled with fish and they quickly leave the premises.

"Can I just say I love you hair little miss, Naturally dark red? if only I was that lucky."

The now empty tank is surrounded by a gaggle of awkwardly shifting henchmen.

"So who is gonna tell the boss we lost the princess?"

DP x DC Prompt [29]

Danny flees to Metropolis after a bad reveal and finds that its actually really easy to disappear in the gigantic city.

The only pushback (if you can call it that) is that he gets a personal visit from Marilyn Moonlight on her spectral horse and she tells him he's allowed to stay as long as he doesn't cause any trouble.

The last thing he wants is a fight with a city spirit...

He does odd jobs here and there, wanders around, watches the supers handle the threats.

It's not how he figured his life would go but it's alright, he's managing.

During one of his wanderings he overhears an argument at the back of a cafe.

It turns out that a sound and lights guy is a no-show and the metal band that's supposed to perform that night is scrambling to find a replacement.

Danny volunteers if they are willing to show him the setup, he figures he's technical enough, he can figure it out. (And he might use some of his ghost abilities to make things work, but that's besides the point).

This is how he meets their lead singer, one Siobhan McDougal. Its only later that he learns she's also known as the Silver Banshee.

It explains why he feels comfortable around her, she's nice and he absolutely doesn’t have an issue with her ghostly sensibilities.

She's the one to hire Danny to be their sound and lights guy permanently.

Danny also helps with marketing and merch down the line.

Everything is fine until one night there is a commotion at the venue and Danny goes ghost to help handle the situation.

Afterwards Siobhan as Banshee stares at Danny, who stares back, and they kinda just float and look and Danny starts to go gradually invisible when he's suddenly grabbed and held up and Siobhan is positively beaming at him.

"You're like me!"

"Uhm..."

"Boy Banshee"

"Technically, men can't be-"

"So adorable~"

Next thing he knows she holds him close. And well, that's really nice, just happy happy spectral vibes all around and Danny can't help but bask in it and would it really be so bad?

She's definitely squeezing the air out of him though, it's a good thing he doesn't need to breathe in that form.

After that he works hard at altering his ghost appearance a little to make it look like he has matching skull face paint going on when he transforms.

It helps with maintaining his identity too somehow...

Despite the fact that he's still using the exact same skillset, somehow, for some reason, nobody catches on that Phantom and Boy Banshee are incredibly similar.

A fight between Danny and Skulker within the ghost zone carried them to a section that Danny wasn't familiar with. It was near a floating island that was overgrown much like Skulker's that the two of them suddenly got ambushed by a third party.

The new ghost seemed more interested in fighting Skulker than Danny, and he didn't hesitate at all to pull out a green glowing serated knife and a matching gun. Their snarling and growling was like nothing Danny had heard before and the insults were also a lot more vicious than what Danny ever heard from Skulker.

It was clear to Danny that these two hated each other.

"Whatever!" Skulker twists mid aerial dodge into Danny's direction, "This isn't over whelp, I'll have your pelt next time!" Skulker shouts before promptly flying off.

The new ghost then approaches Danny, all the while sneering at Skulker's retreating form. Talking with the new guy is... uncomfortable, Danny has to carefully navigate the conversation because it seems like the slightest thing sets him off, aka the guy's masked eyes start glowing brighter and get this smokey effect, and the belt of bullet shells he's wearing over his shoulder catches fire.

But Danny learns that the ghost goes by Ravager and that he's the son of the greatest mercenary there is, was, will be (according to him of course).

Danny also learns that Ravager finds his close combat skills to be atrocious and offensive to look at, "your hand to hand is shit. No wonder you're dead," and the next thing he knows he gets dragged towards the floating chunk of land for an impromptu cqc lesson.

Ravager shows him various fighting skills at a cleared stretch of land nearby a half demolished building that looks like it might have been a T shaped tower at one point.

In fact the whole island has the look of a post apocalyptic city, overgrown ruins of buildings everywhere.

When Danny asks, Ravager tells him it suits him just fine like this and with a name like his Danny is inclined to believe him.

Ravager is disappointed that Danny is a hero and some parts of his personality remind him of his younger brother who he rather not think about at all, other parts of Danny remind him of Robin, who he really doesn't want to think about at all.

In the end though, curiosity gets the better of him and he asks Danny if he can take a look around, see if he can find a guy named Deathstroke (very reassuring name) and report back what he's doing nowadays.

Ravager is not happy with what Danny finds out for him.

"So there was this girl and she apparently also goes by Ravager so to be honest, I'm a little confused now"

"He Fucking replaced me!!?!" flames burst out around Ravager as he shoults.

Danny tries to placate, "... okay now, maybe it's more a passing on the torch kinda thing, keeping your memory alive or something?"

"Where is that portal you've talked about, I'm gonna fucking kill him," Yeah this guy is not listening.

"Now that seems like a rash and poorly thought out thing to do, maybe instead-"

But Ravager is done listening and instead he just yoinks Danny with him in his hunt for vengeance.

Meanwhile on the other side Rose is telling Dick and Jason about a spooky white haired meta kid that popped out of nowhere, asked her if she knew where Deathstroke is at and when she attacked him he deflected all her moves as if he'd done it a thousand times before.
