PSI Types in the SB World

Generic type: Not influenced by anything major. Usually obtained if the person got their powers at toddlerhood or teenagehood. Example: PSI Pulse.

Event types: A major event or trauma led to the psychic gaining this power. Example: Health Surge (Lamar’s experience with his mother’s illness and death)

Natural types: The psychic has a type that they were born with. Example: Eldritch Eye (while only unlocked through Isanir, this power is Dottie’s)

Evocation Given types: From Derleth, four types of PSI flow. A Soulbonded may gain one or more (if Eldritch) of these types. They are influenced both by the particular Evocation as well as the host themselves. Example: Horror Absorb (Both Alicia and Elothu’s type is Terror)

Influenced types: These powers are gained through influence of their surroundings, as well as the psychics’ experiences. Examples: Pale Luna (Lamar’s Derleth type is Sorrow, and he gained this ability without influence of his Evocation). Outburst and Wail (Rage and Sorrow Derleth’s type of PSI, Dottie gained them without even being bonded with an Evocation, simply by the influence of Derleth’s surroundings.)
