You are a Soapberry Springs girl, born and bred. Your mom was a Springs girl, her mom was a Springs girl, and so and and so on ever since your ancient family pod migrated from wherever to the cool Pacific coast just off of the supernatural town. The tourist trade might not be bustling in the Springs but the surrounding coast tourists are always looking for some good whale watching cruises, and the one your family runs is legendary. To outsiders it feels like you’d have to commune with the local whales to get as close as frequently as you do. It’s a risky business: keeping them out of Soapberry shores; stopping the outside towns from asking where your mysterious boat actually docks at the end of the day; getting your cousins to show their flukes while hiding their very human heads when the local whales just don’t feel like cooperating. Risky, but lucrative, the family business is what paid for your sprawling estates and fully outfitted private cove on shore front property in Jamara. Now it’s coming close to your turn to take over the business and people are wondering what you’ll do. Stay in the family home? Branch out? Continue the risky trade or start something more specific to supernaturals? It’s your path to create. Your name is something any girl next door in any town would have, like, Amanda, Chelsea, Maria, or Emma.

The Single Dad  ║  Atronach ║  Open Male   

Some people, after they have kids, seem to define themselves only as a parent. That’s not you at all. You define yourself by being the best father any man could hope to be. Yeah sure you have a job as a police officer, baker, doctor, personal trainer or whatever it is you work as, but work isn’t half as fulfilling as caring for your little bundles of joy. Anyway, work will still be there in a few years while your little wonders (or wonder) are growing up so fast. Fast enough that you know one day soon they are going to start asking what happened to mom. Did you divorce, did she run off, did she die, do you still love her, did you make her leave, do you miss her? All these questions and you’re the only one that can answer them now. No one ever said being the best dad ever would be easy. Sometimes you have to rely on your atronach strength and community; they do say the best place for raising supernatural babies is a supernatural town. The Hillbilly ║  Fairy ║  Open Male

So you might not be the first thing people picture when they think of a fairy. You’re all rough edges, grime, and have too often been told “you look like the way having film on your teeth feels” for it to be simple coincidence. Whether or not you spread wings that may bring to mind insects or sparrows, no one looks at you and thinks of Oberon and Titania. People can say what they want about you but if they talk shit about your opossum familiar they’ll find you’re not as easy going as you look. You grew up in one of those small towns described by people who don’t live there as “salt of the earth” or “blue collar” while the people who live there mostly bitch about the weather, lack of jobs, and all the meth heads. Any part of it that’s not wilderness is trailer parks and slowly deteriorating factories. 

Your fae family sequestered themselves in this town, taking up blue collar jobs like foresters, miners, factory workers and were intent to live and die in your town. You didn’t feel the same at all, not content to be sheltered in this rural bubble; you wanted to see the world. People speculate on if you had big plans for yourself or if you just wanted to run away from your problems. What those problems were and whether they had more to do with lack of jobs, family, or the meth heads, only you know. Your name reveals a lot about where you came from and is something like Billy Ray, Cooter, or John Boy.

In this world anything of great significance can spawn a nymph. An embodiment of that significance, an element given form. You’re the embodiment of the local area lighthouse, the most famous one actually, the oldest around in Soapberry Springs. It’s been guiding sailors safely home in the fog for years. You’ve been around for years too, most people can’t say how long exactly because for the early years of your life you lived alone with only the lighthouse keeper as your companion. To him you were his own personal pygmalion. Others are left to wonder what your relationship was with the human recluse. Was he a father figure? A dear friend? Something else? He’s passed away now, but that’s okay, you’re used to being alone. Or so you thought, there is something that draws you to others even as you stand apart.
