Have kids?
Apologies in advance if this is gonna be a long word vomit again but this none-too-simple ask is making me contemplate a lot of things. First off, the answer to your loaded question, Anon, is I don’t know, but I believe. Those are two distinct words and you have to remember that.
What I believe is that two people met in 2013, both barely holding on to a dream of making a career in the entertainment industry because of an ageist and bullshit notion by society that people can’t be successful after their 20s. I believe they took a gamble when they auditioned and took on the roles of two iconic and beloved book characters, not fully knowing or understanding what it all meant — what the fame and the fortune could give them, and cost them at that. I believe they gave it their best anyway because what else have they got to lose? He’s working paycheck to paycheck and she’s considered ancient by her age in the fashion industry. I believe their gamble paid off and they both worked their asses off to get where they are now.
I believe that when she walked in on that audition studio, palms sweating and insides affluter from being late and nervous, she felt calm and steadied by a big Scot who probably gave her a reassuring smile. I believe he found her beautiful that day, and everyday after, even at her most flustered moments. I believe something beautiful began the day one Caitríona Mary Balfe and Sam Roland Heughan met to play the roles of one James Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser and Claire Elizabeth Beauchamp Randall. And I believe that something still stands strong today, despite everything that’s happened and despite all of the background noise.
And yet, I don’t know. I don’t know if they’re married. I don’t know if they have kids. I don’t know if they live together. I don’t know what will happen after Outlander ends. There’s no way to go about it except living with the not knowing, because that’s how it is, being a mere fan. Does it kill me sometimes? Maybe a little bit. Then again, I don’t begrudge them their privacy because contrary to popular beliefs, they are human beings who eat and breathe and poop and love and cry and feel like the rest of us. They’ve both and individually disappointed us time and again with the guessing and mind games but, then again, they’ve never forced us to stay and support them still.
You’re here, whether as a fan or otherwise, out of your own volition, completely aware that no one is mind fucking you to believe one theory over another. And so am I. As they say, knowledge is power, and with great power comes great yada yada yada...
But sometimes it’s also good to believe. I believe the stars sometimes just align. And that’s enough. For me at least.
8! ❤️
8. Are there any plots or characters who have changed dramatically since you initially started writing them?
I would say Andrew has seen the most character development into a different direction than I originally thought. Also some parts of Alma’s storyline changed a lot from what I initially thought. In large part it’s because I’ve been able to collaborate so much with you lovely people in our community ❤️
Loved the episode! It was so funny! I am glad Alexis is getting the recognition she deserves because she is a hard worker and starting a PR business from scratch (without rose family money) is impressive for her- not that she couldn’t do it before they lost the money but I think she feels super proud of herself to do it on her own and obviously she could have but yeah. Moira seems so happy with the buzz from the public and she seems genuinely proud of Alexis which is cute
I love love LOVED Alexis getting the recognition she deserved and I especially loved seeing it come from Moira. They’ve had such an up and down relationship and you can tell that Moira is so proud of her and her accomplishments. It’s such HUGE character growth from when Moira had to write down talking points to have lunch with her own daughter.
Your art is precious!
SKSKSKKSSK- :”0 omg thank youuu
your such a sweetheart (💜´∀`)
Hey Riley, have you met any Mimikyus or Alolan Raichus yet?
Scout: Yeah, totally! Riley’s cousin, Moana, is an Alolan Raichu! Professor Oak also told me that Riley is from Alola! They were a gift from his cousin, that the Professor gave to me when I started my journey.
Let me clue you in.. He's an actor. It was a professional shoot so he can act accordingly at times. It does not mean he is not always a gentleman to women he dates. Being non committal and casual sex is fine as long as it's communicated. Hopefully he's gotten better at doing that. Haven't you ever heard the term, wolf in sheep's clothing? He's not some shy sweet boy.
I’m assuming this is about some comment I made about not reconciling Fuckboy!Sam with the good guy everyone says he is? If we must have this conversation, I’ll put it plainly for you so you don’t have to worry about your last three brain cells making it til next Thursday.
Sam Heughan and Caitríona Balfe are first and foremost people before they are actors. They are professionals, good at their craft, love their jobs, and generous to the people around them. They have raised literal millions in charity and continue to support dozens of movements and campaigns. Are they perfect? Should we be licking the ground they walk on because they can spare a few thousand out of their millions? Fuck no. They’re people, so naturally they make mistakes but the difference is those mistakes are often made so public and twisted to become so far from the truth that they don’t bother correcting losers like you because what’s the point you already think they’re the second coming of Satan anyway.
True though about consensual and casual sex being perfectly okay. Do I believe Sam sleeps around? I’m a shipper so make your braincells work just a tiny bit more to work out that puzzle. Honestly, why you come onto my blog with these arguments has me scratching my head.
Wolf in sheep’s clothing does sound sexy though, maybe he is shy and sweet yet a beast in bed. I dunno, let’s ask Cait.
Anyway, I digress. I don’t know why you lot are always ready to shoot our heads off for wanting to believe that Sam and Cait are actually decent people. I call them out for the shit they do but also praise them for the good I see in them. That’s how the world works, sweaty. Celebrities aren’t gods nor should they be treated as such, but if they aren’t scum either, I’m allowed to give praises to their character every once in a while.
That’s why I’m called a — gasp — fan.
Sorry your mom never hugged you as a kid. Must have been a sad time. Bye.
