Bike and Build Day 1
Bike and Build Day 1 is in the books. The crew is awesome and I can’t wait to tell you more about them, but for now... everything is running smoothly and as planned and while I’m upset the Jays lost on Saturday, it certainly made things easier getting to spend time with the family over the past couple days on the way down to Charleston.
Hoping to get a chance to spend some time with Schyler befor I leave Charleston on Thursday. Tomorrow will be our first safety ride day. It’ll be a light 22 miles out to the beach and back, so here’s hoping for an awesome day. My team is awesome... ‘We’re a liability’ consists of Leah, Lauren, Lily, Maya, and myself.
Tune in tomorrow to see how the first ride went and whether or not I’ll need to replace my gears after our first ride. Wake up is at 6am so I’m off to bed.
On the work front... I finished the documentary I’ve been working on for the past couple weeks, so that’s a great weight to have lifted off my shoulders. Can’t wait to show everyone when it’s finally released! And congrats to Denver on winning the national championship this weekend. It was well-deserved and the whole championship weekend was a blast to be a part of.
A great way to show our sense of adventure on SC2SC13! Featuring some of my fabulous teammates from this summer’s grand journey!
On location at Devil’s Punchbowl, just west of Independence Pass, CO, site of SC2SC13’s best moment as a team.

Went on a training/fun ride today. The Quidditch World Cup was in Kissimmee, FL this year and as luck would have it, 2 people from SC2SC12! So I used this as an excuse to get away from my studies and get some miles in. It's about 55 miles from my house to the park they were playing, so it was going to be 110 miles round trip. This turned into about 67 miles due to an untimely tire blow out 40 miles from home. Luckily I was saved the long walk home from Maulik. Despite this incident I was able to enjoy and learn about quidditch from a master! Alyssa taught me everything I needed to know and I was able to actually understand the chaos happening on the pitch. Great training day overall but I would love to knock out a long ride with the round trip I plan on for once.
Almost at my first deadline!
Hey everyone!
Fundraising is always much harder than you think, it seems like everyday i flipflop between underestimating and overestimating how hard these fundraising deadlines are going to be. I'm back in Melbourne and reunited with my bike! I haven't ridden it except to commute here and there but i'm hoping to get a nice ride in during the long weekend.
Still spreading the word around Melbourne. I have a few fundraisers planned in between everything else going on this semester. I'll be talking about those on here when they become more concrete.
