About Somkiat’s nickname. I have no idea how he got it but most of the time Thai kids were given nickname by their parents/relatives, either at birth or some time later (mostly the former).

The names itself could be virtually anything from meaningful one (Somkiat’s case) to just… uh, things. For example I know someone name ‘boom’ like the sound a bomb makes and ‘taxi’ which, yeah. It’s fun stuff alright 💀

haha thank you for expanding, i love that! i guess it makes sense if people tend to have longer names that you need a shorter one, in lots of european cultures we just shorten the long name but of course another option is just a whole different short name. boom is so cute honestly.

(google says that somkiat's means "echo"? is that right because thats so cool)
