how to be on top of all your manga

Hello, wonderful weebs, otakus, or whatever you identify as. If you’ve noticed that there’s a ungodly amount of manga that you can’t keep track of or worse, need to caught up to I’ve prepared a guide that will help you. 

1) Go to the mangadex or bato.to, create an account and subscribe to your manga 

2) Subscribe directly to the scanalation group’s website of the manga you’re interested in 

3) *Best option* Follow the scanalation group’s discord

BTW This guide is best suited if you want to be keep up with certain mangas that you really like rather than all the mangas you are reading. For example, a certain genre or element that you can categorize them as. 

1) Now the most easiest one is to create an account preferably on mangadex or bato.to because that’s where scanalation groups most often go to, to upload their chapters. The website will give you notifications on mangas that you subscribed or added to your list once you’re on the website. 

2) If you’re looking for more chapters, I recommend going directly to the scanalation group’s website which mangadex and bato.to tells you. Or if you look at the first page or last page of the chapter, the group’s info is usually there. 

In whatever format they use, you’re going to follow them in some way. (ex. Tumblr, follow, allow notifications). 

The advantage of following them directly is that some groups have a policy of uploading onto their website first for whatever amount of hours, days, or weeks before uploading it to the manga sites. If you can’t wait, then this is the way to go. 

Heck, some only upload only onto their website due to the series already being licensed or some other legal issue.

Plus, you support the group because the ads run there will help with their website costs. 

3) My favorite one is following their discords. These have become massively popular with the scanalation groups as they are an easy way to communicate. The best feature is that their discords give you notifications whenever they upload a chapter. 

Even more, some chapters may be very restrictive that you can only access with a direct link or need a password that their discord will give you.  Oh yea don’t even think of joining to to rip off from them to upload on manga websites because the mangago admin tried to infiltrate in one server  and he got kick out so fast. Like nuh uh

Also, some fans like me are dying so much to get a chapter that some groups  use MTL (machine translation) to get reasonably accurate translations so they can release chapters even faster 

How is this better? Instead of going through the hassle of individually following their websites, you can put all of it into one platform: Discord. 

Another feature that I love about it is that you can choose on what specific manga you want to follow so that you’re not notified whenever a group releases any chapter. Some groups have a lot of projects with a lot of variety. 

Lastly, you get to communicate with the group. For many years there’s been a disconnect between the readers and the group because there was no real way to communicate. With discord, it has made it easier for people who been reading manga for a long, long time and actually want to help out with the group. Whether that be applying for a position within the group, coordinating volunteers with projects, or even simply suggesting manga for them to pick up. 

Also, you find a space for people who are reading the same manga so you guys can all discuss on it all together cuz we all have that one manga we just love to death but no one knows about. Or worse, no one around you reads manga or thinks it’s weird. 

I created a discord account only to stay updated with my manga but I’ve been having fun with people who have the same interests as me. I hope you will too.

Update: I became part of a scanlation group through discord. I finally got to put my weeb passion into good use

I Clean/Typeset Manga For Free!!!!

Hellooo!! I know this is a graphics page but I also do manga cleaning and typesetting! I clean simple and complex manga styles.

As of writing this I do not have any experience working with a scan group or with a translator. I mostly clean Nekojiru panels for fun in my free time. (raws found here https://read-nekojiru.neocities.org/works)

Does anyone know where I could find Tasuuketsu (manga by Taiga Miyakawa) raws? We've been watching the anime and I want to compare it to the manga, but I can't even find the raws/scans of it anywhere. It's like this thing doesn't exist anywhere but the magazine it ran in.

Why do you rely on the official translations so much?As I've seen volume 16 is from CR and in their website they have made mistakes translating it and while they fixed some of it in the site itself they didn't do that with the manga book translation

I enjoy the fan translations as much as anyone and I’m very grateful to the translators I follow. There have been numerous times I’ve looked to them to help me understand a passage or clarify wording. My scanalation tag has several instances of that. Errors happen in all the translations.

The primary reason I buy the books and use the official translation is because I love this series and want to support it any way I can. Even if my visit means the tiniest amount of ad revenue for them, it’s the least I can do. And visiting the official site costs me nothing.

Message to people: if you can, definitely read the Crunchyroll version and link to that, instead of illegal scanlation sites.

I know it isn't available to everyone, but it's the best choice. And the latest chapter free on Crunchyroll. You don't need a subscription for it. It typically comes out just a few days after the scanalations.

I personally read both. And then I buy the book! BOOK ToDAY. Volume 14!!!! TODAY!!!!! With the bar scene cover! Goodbye!
