Resultado da aula da Carol sobre camadas na @scrapeople. Para garantir que o trabalho dure por mais tempo, resolvi acrescentar aos arquivos (criados por mim com orientação da Carol) uma camada extra de acetato com o nome. #quadroemcamadas #scrap #scapbook #scrapbooking https://www.instagram.com/p/CisgBkkOSGH/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
December Roundup: Home for the Holidays
I have been home for about two weeks now and I haven't been doing much of anything but sleeping in really late, wearing pajamas all day, and watching really bad Christmas movies. I haven't been in the best mood, or motivated, or inspired in any way. It's hard for me to admit that I haven't been doing art, and in fact, the thought of sitting down at my desk here at home, gives me anxiety. I have been going through a lot but for some reason, I was watching Julie & Julia for the millionth time while ago, and I just thought- hell, let me blog. That movie is the best and it cheered my up for sure.
ANYWAYS, I am always glad to be home where all my old paintings are. If you walk into the house right now, it's just walls and walls of art. I pulled two canvases off my easel the other day and every time I go to the laundry room or bathroom, I add an entire tube of paint to them in a haphazardous way. You know those little cheap tubes that come in the student kits? I break the seal, squeeze the entire thing on the painting and spread it with a brayer or a palette knife. I am going to stop at some point, but for now it's nice to have a wip, since all my work is back in NYC on my other desk.
I also am currently reading my way through an epic stack of art mags my friend Barbara gave me. So exciting! If I get my mojo back WHEN I get my mojo back, I will make a little mixed media something. I texted her earlier telling her about this really old oil painting I did in high school. I always forget my parents have my high school work, and my mama proudly displays this one- it was a lesson on stretching my own canvas and it reminds my of my awesome wine-jewel-toned color scheme that I used to be so obsessed with. It's funny seeing your own art in all the places you call home. I’m glad to have more than one place that I call home. Insert heart emoji.
Now I am going back to being a holiday hermit. Ok luv u byeeeee
